“Friendly and Fabulous”
Reviewed 30 January 2011

Holiday Inn Express has come up trumps with this wonderful hotel, situated in a brilliant location. The express train from Euston (London now just a two-hour journey away) means the city's really accessible. I arrived late in the evening but was met by smart, unfailingly smiley staff who offered a fabulous welcome. The rooms are smallish but offer fabulous views of the Albert Dock - wonderful at night and very restful in the morning.
Breakfast is the croissants, egg and bacon variety, but the buffet was fully-stocked and very clean. This Holiday Inn Express has a lovely feel to it - it's a very sympathetic conversion, but it was the friendly staff who made the stay extra special. The fact that it's only five minutes walk from the Royal Liver Building and many of the city's major attractions was the icing on the cake.

A brilliant hotel; extremely good value and exciting location. Our room was amazing with exposed brickwork, a fantastic and large bathroom which was really modern and a view of the Mersey. Nice public areas. Bit of dodgy breakfast with ghastly scrambled eggs but nice pastries. Slightly off hand staff at times and good at others. One woman was so sour I wanted to giggle but another guy was really helpful with my receipt.

Stayed here for one night only with my family. Hotel is in fantastic location and we were very pleased with the standard of our room and bathroom. Obviously, it is basic, but I knew that as I was only paying £65.00 for three of us which included breakfast!
I really cannot fault anything about it and would definately stay again on my next visit to Liverpool.

Stayed here on New Years Eve with a group of friends. The room looked over Albert Dock and was spotless. The bathroom was large and functional and again everything was very clean. We got back to the hotel at 4am and it was quite busy with people arriving back from a night out but there was no noise and I had no problem getting to sleep. If you are looking for good clean accommodation in a great location for a good price then this is the perfect choice.

Stayed at this hotel for New Year 31 Dec 2010. Hotel is central to all attractions at Albert Dock and a 5 - 10 min walk to Liverpool 1 shopping area. Quick book in on arrival and staff very curteous. Room was spotlessly clean, really nicely decorated with, tea/coffee facilities and big flatscreen television, bath room good size with nice shower. Even though it was NY eve and we didn't get back until about 2 in the morning, slept very well. Only disappointment was breakfast, very basic, eating area pleasant with good views from windows.

Checked in boxing day for a 1 night stay, all well & pleasent and as the hotel was closed the previous night we where allowed to check in at 11am.

Started off well, great room with view over docks and big Plasma TV and good value as paid £20.12 as it was the olympics 2012 promotion.

Came back in @ 22.30pm after dinner in Liverpool One, I heard extremely loud music in my room and in the hotel corridors in was in fact the night club next door to the hotel, It was soooo loud the whole room vibrated and it was like trying to sleep on the dance floor. This ended at 3am so I was extremely tired and angry.

10 Mins later people came back to the hotel from the club next door, until 04.30am it was shouting, swearing, screaming, kicking doors and banging in the corridors absolute nightmare.

Mentioned it in the morning and the reception staff also heard the noise as stayed over night in the hotel, but there said it is boxing day afterall and refused to knock any money off my bill.

May of been a one off but spolit my boxing day night regardless of what I
paid for the room.

This is a perfect spot for a trip to Liverpool. Right in the action at Albert Dock and a short walk from Liverpool One and the city centre or the Museum and Pierhead. It's about £10 in a taxi to Anfield.

The hotel itself is inside the historic warehouse and our comfortable room retained the red brick vaulted ceilings and wallsa nd cast iron fittings. We had a view out across the Mersey (room 350).

Staff were friendly and efficient. The bar had sensible, pub, prices and a view across Albert Dock to the Pierhead. For £61 it was fantastic value.

Breakfast was OK. Not as good as some HIX but theres not much difference. There weer vending machines for snacks and drinks and tea/coffee in the rooms.

Parking is an issue. The open air parking opposite could be limited at busy times (not December) and is expensive - up to £15 for 24 hoursa nd at least £2 for up to an hour during check in. The 7pm/7am overnight rate is a more modest £3.50. Best solution is to park at the Echo Arena multi storey - a short walk away. Make sure you ask the hotel reception for a 25% discount token. You then pay £7.50 for 24 hours. Ideally, park there first and walk your bags to the hotel.
