“Stay to see Lion King at Liverpool Empire”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 May 2014

this was a treat for my wife for our anniversary to see the Lion King I had asked for flowers in the room but they went two better and there was a card and cake together with the flowers.
I had a swim in the impressive pool at three quarters the length of our local authority pool plus steam room.
Our bedroom with two King Sized beds overlooked the waterfront and the view was superb a nice touch was the Lion King do not disturb please clean my room card. My Daughter is a Lion King fan and she likes.
There was a disabled spot reserved for us in the Car Park.
All the staff were friendly.
We are planning what we will do on our next trip to Liverpool the only thing not in question is the hotel we will use.

Room Tip: Ask for a view over the waterfront

Thank you very much for taking the time to post a fantastic 5 star comment on your recent stay here with us at the Crowne Plaza Hotel Liverpool City Centre. I am so glad your wife appreciated the treat left in the room her, for your anniversary and you both enjoyed the Lion King; which I am yet to see but have heard brilliant reviews already on the show. I agree with you we do have a good size swimming pool which I am happy to see you made use of. We would love to have the opportunity to be able to welcome you back to the hotel in the near future. With regards to planning your next trip there is so much to do and see in the city if you need any help please contact the hotel and I would be more than happy to help recommend local attractions. Once again thank you very much for your time and see you soon.
Kind Regards

I stayed here with my girlfriend over the weekend as we had tickets to see the Lion King.

First impressions of the hotel were very good and the hotel seemed to be up to the usual Crowne Plaza standards.

I had booked a King room and the room was good but nothing special and to be honest I was a little bit disappointed in the standard and quality. It was of ample size but some of the finishings let the room down, and having to ask for the mini bar to be stocked was a little surprising and annoying, which probably cost the hotel a few pounds as I decided not to have it stocked.

We didn't have any food in the hotel as the weather was lovely and we decided to walk into the city centre and sample the local bars and restaurants.

We also booked the club lounge which was good value for money and had a good selection of beers and drinks, however breakfast was advertised to be served until 1130 however when we went at 1120 it had been cleared away and there was no staff present to ask.

One further gripe was the cost of parking and I feel that parking should be free or offered as a perk to elite members, but its becoming more common for all crowne plazas to charge for parking.

We enjoyed our time in Liverpool and at the Lion King, however I am not sure if I would stay at this hotel again.

Thank you for taking the time to comment on your stay here with us at the Crowne Plaza Hotel Liverpool City Centre. I am glad you both enjoyed the Lion King. Your comments are vital to us and I truly am disappointed to see our high quality standards had dropped slightly during your visit to our hotel. However our mini bar is only stocked upon request, we will certainly look into our procedures. I agree the weather has been lovely over the last few weekends and our location is ideal for sightseeing and enjoying the glorious weather. I am happy to see you thought our club lounge was value for money as we are always looking on ways we can improve our services. With regards to breakfast in the club lounge it is cleared away at 11.00am on weekends and in our restaurant we serve until 11.30am, I am sorry you were not made aware of this and nobody was around to assist you. In Relation to our secure car park we do offer a competitive rate, with all the city centre hotels. Thank you for your kind words on our staff, and we truly hope you would reconsider staying here with us again in the future to give us the opportunity to restore your faith in our hotel.
Kind Regards

City centre hotel by the liverpool ferry terminal, great location, lots of nice walking areas and outside seating to chill, good parking, welcoming staff, and ease of access to city centre bars restaurants and clubs, but away from the mad bits that create distraction, like late night drinkers, liverpool one shopping area is a hop skip and a jump away, the Albert dick and the arena only a few minutes walk, all in all great location, the hotel had a nice feel to it, the room, ours was an executive room was enough, not too big not too small, the bed big and comfy, the shower small and only accommodates one, the bath ditto, otherwise a nice smart clean bathroom.
The facilities were good free internet connection.
The restaurant not brilliant, better places to eat, in the city, the breakfast typical serve yourself breakfast, cold, and unappetising, seemed to have been waiting around all morning so the texture was lets say hard, and as such tasteless, the service in the breakfast room was dull.
All in all not bad value pity the breakfast spoiled what was otherwise a nice stay.

Room Tip: Pay more! But if you can try to seek a free upgrade.

My wife and I stayed here for the weekend and were made to fell welcome from the very start of our stay.
It's nice that the staff are nearly all local and know exactly where you can go if you are new to the City. The Concierge was especially helpful and friendly.
We booked a basic room and this was wonderful. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom well appointed, with lovely towels and lots of hot water for shower or bath.

Breakfast was included in our deal and this left nothing to be desired.
Full English buffet breakfast and continental options well catered for.
I would recommend this hotel for all who visit Liverpool. Just a stroll to the Pier Head and a short taxi ride into the top of town.

What can I say...its next door to the iconic Royal Liver building and 0.2 miles of the Museum of Liverpool, the Mersey Ferry and Beatles Story museum. Ask for a Mersey view room. Car parking is a very reasonable £10 a night and there were plenty of spots available. The restaurant is excellent. But the front desk staff and concierge were simply impeccable. Can't rate them highly enough.

As for the rooms themselves...The bathroom was spotlessly clean, albeit slightly worn. The bed was heavenly and you certainly won't lack for pillows!

The complimentary waters for IHG members was a nice touch.

Whilst I accept that it is a better class hotel, with good service from the staff, we somehow felt it didn't have much pizazz. The room was alright but was a long distance from the lifts. There were nice touches such as complimentary water each day, both still and sparkling. We had our pillows changed (they advertise a variety of pillows) and the towels were good quality. The mini bar however was empty and not operational. Breakfast was good but we didn't have any other meals there.

Room Tip: Request room nearer to lift if unable to walk far and pay premium for dock view rather than road vie...

Spent an evening staying here, August 2012, with my Nan & Mum. We had lovely rooms with gorgeous views over-looking the Mersey.
We enjoyes the selection of tv channels available and a nice relaxing bath.
Lovely evening meal & yummy breakfast!
Short walk into the centre of town, easily done in about 10minutes (or less).
Friendly, smiley staff who were helpful if needed.
Good quality all round!! ❤️
