This was really great for the price - you don't expect much when paying 40 odd quid for a room, but it was absolutely fine. The fact that it is only a few minutes walk from the Albert Dock makes it even better. Ok, it is a fairly basic hotel and the room was certainly no frills, but it was clean and comfortable. Easy parking and friendly staff as well. Some reviews mention noise as an issue but it was very quiet when we were there - a Sunday and Monday night. We had a room overlooking the dock which had a nice view. Breakfast was pretty standard but perfectly acceptable. The breakfast area doubles as the on site restaurant in the evening, which is useful if you don't want to go further afield to eat.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the 2nd Floor overlooking the water.

Stayed here recently for four nights.Had two rooms, came on break with husband and my parents. Our room was hot but clean. Bathroom tiles looked a bit shabby. Could do with new bath. no hand towels but bath towels changed daily. Our room was on the front of the hotel and if we left window open was very noisy. parents had room at back of hotel. Was hot so left note for window to be left open but was continually shut. No hand towels. Tv didn't work properly so reported it twice but nothing was done about it. Didn't have any meals but used bar. Staff friendly and helpful. I had to go to hospital during my stay and reception staff offered to order me a taxi.very helpful. Definitely stay here again.

Slightly embarrassed I write this review.
I booked it as a 3.5 rated hotel for my nephew and dad, whos main requests were a hot shower and good breakfast-big mistake and never again.
They stayed for 2 nights. On check in they wanted some food so ordered some tea and toast which came to £6.50 each!! ok its a fixed price for breakfast but £6.50 for tea and toast, guess more fool them for paying but not familiar with the area I guess they thought they didn't have an option. .
On day one they woke up to have a shower-no towels at all, they phoned reception and half an hour later had to go to reception to retrieve such themselves, now on the website it stated towels in room. Then went for breakfast, taking full advantage of £6.50 breakfast this time-but there was no electricity, therefore no hot breakfast option.
No compensation, no explanation.....just not good enough. We have lots of visitor to Liverpool from all parts of the world and generally don't spend much time at the hotel hence I look for a bargain. But no towels or electricity.

We had a 2 night stay and really didn't get much sleep. It was warm weather and our top floor room was hot hot hot.. We went out and left window open only to get back to a baking hot room with windows shut.
We had a waterside room. We tried with windows open but there was a lot of shouting outside and seagulls from the early hours. We even had someone trying for around a minute to get into our room at around 4.30 am.
The furnishings were clapped out. Most of the coat hangers fell to bits the moment you put clothes on them, and the dressinging table collapsed with the coffee maker on top of it. The brackets holding it to the wall were missing.
As others have mentioned all the fire doors were open 24/7. It is only a problem if there is a fire. Then it is a real problem.
Good car parking and a pretty convenient location for the dockside.
At all times the staff were helpful. but the place needs a refit and It needs air-con. A pretty good location but let down by wear & tear.

Room Tip: Don't go for the top floor in warm weather. The dock side is very nice, but in warm weather ther...
