We stayed here as a group for 1 night, and on the surface it looks like a pleasant enough place to stay. Scratch a little deeper and you see that all is not what it seems.
Good transport links into the city - right on a bus route, and convenient shops near by for essentials.
We had 5 rooms between us and the cleanliness was poor - dirty walls, light switches, stained carpets, smashed picture frames, stains on the bedding, towels smelt of cooking fat - to name but a few of the issues.
Room 11 - 1 bed was held up by planks of wood under the splayed divan base, and the other bed only had castors on one side, so on a 30 degree angle. The shower only ran cold too.
Noisy as original sash windows, and creaking floorboards.
The breakfast is pricey at £8 - much better to go up the road to the local Tesco!
For the money, this does not match the standard or comfort of other budget hotels at all!

Room Tip: Not room 11

Stayed here for one night while visiting friends. Location is good, about £5 taxi journey into the centre, and easy to get a bus too. Its a big house with lots of bedrooms, pretty basic honestly. Looks tatty from the outside and isn't that great looking inside. Staff at reception were helpful enough. Room was clean with fresh towels, very old looking shower and bathroom in general. The room was a double room, the paint was peeling off the walls, the carpet was stained and the lamp had cobwebs on it. There was quite a cold draught coming from the windows. Unfortunately at 3am there was lots of shouting and yelling outside our room in the corridor which disturbed our sleep, I guess it isn't the fault of the hotel for its guests but nothing was done about it. We paid £70 for one night which was extortionate given the run-down hotel. Would definitely not return or recommend to anyone.

The Green park is a hotel situated in urban south Liverpool. A large converted mansion that is somewhat dated. The reception staff were excellent staying late to check me into my room. The rooms are spacious, well heated with comfortable and clean beds. The bathrooms have been updated and modern in appearance. The hotel is situated between two roads and there fore in my view requires double glazing to make a good nights sleep possible. The old sash single glazed windows for light sleepers is inadequate. The breakfast is very average just the bare minimal. The downstairs décor is very clean with a nice large bar and tv viewing area.

The Green park in parts needs updating, a much improved breakfast and double glazing.

The hotel is just average but acceptable and, very well situated for the city centre and suburbs.

Room Tip: definitely at the back

We had an appointment in Liverpool early on Saturday 16th November and needed somewhere within easy reach of the city centre to stay. As we were arriving at 6pm and departing just over 12 hours later my partner ordered me to keep away from the better known, modern and expensive hotels with many stars but sought somewhere clean and comfortable and cheaper! I didn't spend long on the Internet searching after all it's a bit of a gamble. However to my surprise, I found everything at Green Park Hotel ticked all the boxes. The chap on reception couldn't have been more helpful, assisting with directions when I was lost and making a fabulous recommendation for somewhere to eat (santinis, Italian, just over the road). The room was clean, comfortable and I would thoroughly recommend GPH to anyone seeking affordable accommodation just a short distance to the centre.

Room Tip: Very happy with Room 18, lovely big sash windows and an additional bed!

We had a group if ten girls on a Friday afternoon and we had booked through the hen party website and paid in full when arriving we were shocked to hear thy wanted an extra £25 per person in cash as a bond. We were not made aware I this and know it is not the hotels fault it is that of the company but they really need to work with them and put this information on their website. The rooms were fine for what we wanted a few tiny little improvements could be made. The staff were friendly and called us taxis to town all the time. In the morning we had another confusion as we had paid for breakfast but the company had told the hotel it was just a room so we ha to go and seek food. Again this is not he hotel but they need to meet with the company and discuss ways of stopping this. On the Saturday night we had 10 more girls join us and also were astounded by the £25 cash asked from each of them. But I can honestly say over the whole weekend we lived Liverpool, had a great laugh with the staff especially the bar man brad who was happy to help, koine in our laughter and kept the bar open for us. Thank you
