Before coming to Liverpool I read the reviews (good and bad) about The Liner. I was a bit apprehensive about coming as a result of the bad reviews, and did bring my ear plugs as it is right by the station and the noise was one of the complaints. There were also complaints about the breakfast.

I myself don't understand the bad reviews. We were not by the station and didn't hear station noise, but we did hear noisy seagulls and a bit of noise outside from the pub etc. It is to be expected as you are in central LIverpool and near the sea!!! As for the breakfast - it was lovely and filled us up so much that we didn't want to eat again till mid afternoon. The hotel is clean, modern and the staff are fine. It is less than a minute's walk to the station and so handy for all the amenities Liverpool has to offer.

My only complaint was that the bed was hard. Saying that, it didn't ruin our sleep and we could have said something and didn't.

Might be an idea to bring earplugs but would recommend it and would definitely stay again.

Room Tip: Maybe away from the station and overlooking the street. High up maybe?

We stay here regularly as our daughter is at LIPA Uni. The Hotel is clean, and the staff are friendly. Great location for the shops and restaurants. We stayed here last week for her graduation. Although there is no air con, we had a fan in the room and was able to open the window. The bathroom is lovely and clean and has a great shower.

Just everything about this place is perfect. How a hotel should be run!

The only negatives are really out of the hotels control. Noise from Seagulls and Lime St!

The Seagulls we didn't really hear and noise from Lime St was minimal.

Room Tip: We were in 559 on the station side so although a little noisier than the street side you get the bes...

Hotel was fine, room comfy and clean, breakfast great but unfortunately our room was on the second floor at the back so we felt like we were in the train station. We heard every announcement and train whistle.
I left my phone charger in room and was delighted when I phoned the next day to hear it had been found and kept for me. I was less delighted when told I had to pay a £5 charge to have it sent to me. I didn't mind paying the postage but feel this extra charge was a bit extreme. That'll teach me to be more careful.
Overall the hotel was fine but make sure your room is high up and at the front otherwise you're in for a sleepless night. As there is plenty of choice in Liverpool I think I'd look elsewhere.

Dear alibroon,
Thank you for choosing to stay with us. I was pleased to hear that you found the hotel to be clean and you enjoyed our complimentary breakfast we had to offer. I am sorry to hear you were disturbed by the tannoy system at Lime St, our Management team are currently liaising with Lime St Management to try and resolve to everyone’s satisfaction. I was disappointed to read you found the £5.00 postage of your charger to be more expensive than you would have thought, unfortunately we have a set charge on smaller items that need posting. We hope that we can welcome you back to The Liner when you next visit Liverpool and we are sorry for any inconvenience caused during your stay.
Kind regards,

We paid £120 per night for this hotel thinking by paying more we would get a better hotel for a special occasion, this is not a £120 pn hotel the rooms were small the views were of Lime Street station roof (the announcements start at 7am!!).
The walls are wafer thin, anything above a whisper is audible the rooms are serviced by 2 very small lifts at busy times wait time was around 10 minutes.
The location is good - but then again there are a Travelodge & Premier Inn both within 5 minutes walk offering the same level of accommodation. Save yourself some money and book one of these for less than half the price.

Room Tip: Book at Travelodge same accommodation for less than half the price!!

Dear Mark G,
Thank you for reviewing your stay with us at the Liner Hotel. It was a disappointment to read we did not fulfil your expectations and felt that your stay wasn't value for money. Unfortunately on busy weekends we do increase our room rates to be in line with our competitors and offer complimentary car parking to our guests. We hope that we can welcome you back to The Liner Hotel on your next trip to Liverpool.
