We stayed here on 2nd January whilst attending a concert.
The hotel is fine apart from the rooms on floor 6 where the sound of the boiler, rather like a jet engine is not conducive to a nights sleep. The hotel is aware of this because when our friends, staying in an adjacent room asked to be moved there was no argument.
I also mentioned the issue to the receptionist who acknowledged there was a problem.
Why are the staff not trained to place guests on other rooms when they are available? And why doesn't the hotel address the known issue? the idea of a hotel is to be able to sleep.

We wanted a semi local hotel and this hit the spot. Lovely and clean, very friendly... the rooms were big enough with all you needed.. tea coffee, hair dryer, fan. Hotel food was gorgeous and not too expensive. Drinks also good and well priced. Free parking a bonus. Breakfast was lovely ... fresh, well cooked and self service with plenty of choice . Friendly staff would go back without hesitation but stay longer !!

Really nice hotel to stay close to the city centre and Lime Street Station.
Our room was cosy and the beds really comfortable.
We had the breakfast which there was plenty but the cooked breakfast could have been warmer.

Room tip: Ask for one at the front of the hotel

Ok.... The Liner is situated right behind Lyme Street Station, which is perfect in most respects, until you try to sleep. if your room is at the back of the Hotel, you will hear a constant humming, which once heard you cannot stop hearing. I spoke to another guest the next morning and she stated that she asked to be moved at 11pm and the staff accommodated her request, however we as a group didn't return until after 1.30am so by the time I realised it was a problem it was too late. I will be requesting a room at the front of the hotel as I would visit again.
Right......... now the positives!!!
The rooms are more than adequate, very clean, the staff are very friendly, especially on check out when you husband has been fiddling with the mini bar.... be warned its on a sensor and they can tell if you move anything, fortunately they must get this a lot and removed the items from my bill.
there is a room provided to store your bags...... so you can check out and then leave your luggage until you are ready to catch your train. Again the staff were extremely helpful and speedy as we returned to collect our luggage and we only had minutes to get there. to be fair we didn't want to come home at that point.
The Location is excellent, very central for everything in Liverpool, a great base, but stay at the front of the Hotel.

Room tip: Request rooms away from the Station side
