Tried Indian restaurants all over the north west of england, come across some good and some bad ones, the Saffron in Crosby is right up there in terms of consistently excellent quality food, the chk Shashlic is simply superb.
Staff are pleasant and efficient without being intrusive. Prices are very reasonable for the quality of the food, always feel good when I come out!
Just one tiny tiny niggle - don't always get an after eight mint after the excellent food!
Would recommend it to anyone who likes this type of cuisine...

I have been to this gem of a restaurant on several occasions. It was fantastic to start with and it just keeps getting better. The food served here is without equal, the spices are so delicate on the palate and make the mouth water in a way that I have not experienced at any other restaurant. They only use the best quality ingredients and it is always cooked to perfection. The chef is a real superstar.
The Saffron has really raised the bar and I cant help judging all other restaurants in the area by the standards they set.
The flavours are a mix of Northern India and Nepalese. I think it is this mix and the high standards that I have already mentioned that make the Saffron so special.
The food is best around. The atmosphere is a little flat, this place is all about food as opposed to partying. Some changes to create a are more intimate atmosphere within the restaurant would be welcomed. However, the staff are so friendly, polite and attentive. The place is also immaculate throughout.
If you have not yet been to the Saffron you are really missing out. Beware though, your first visit will definitely not be your last, the Saffron is addictive!

We have been regulars to Saffron, mainly on a takeaway basis for a couple of years now. We decided to sample the Sunday buffet for a change as we thought that it would be a good opportunity to sample dishes that we may not ordinarily order.

Not being massive buffet fans we were worried that the food may not be up to Saffron's high standards....thankfully we were wrong!

We arrived at around 1pm and were the only diners. The Geordie guy (sorry we don't know his name) was really welcoming and gave us a run through of all of the dishes that were being served on the buffet. Upon arrival he told us that he would send a request to the kitchen for them to make some garlic naan bread, when this arrived it was lovely and hot and absolutely delicious! It was nice that it had been freshly made and hadn't been sat around.

All of the dishes that we tried were lovely and allayed any fears we had about buffet dining. As we were eating a number of other diners arrived, including a big family party so the Sunday buffet is obviously a popular choice.

The fantastic food at Saffron is complemented by the warm and welcoming service. This restaurant remains our number one choice for indian and nepalese food in Liverpool and we will be back very soon!

Four courses on New Years Eve, with a glass of bubbly - £25! A bargain and I had to take 2 doggy bags home because my main course was too big and too delicious to leave (and it was a vegetarian option) and we were all too stuffed to eat desert. However, cold Indian on a peswari nan for breakfast on New Years day was just the job. Then I made a start on the deserts so 1st resolution broken already and it's only 1pm....
