As a first time visitor to Liverpool I did some research online as to what to visit. St. George's hall was high on my list and I wasn't disappointed. The café as you enter was very welcome for a warming drink! I even went back to the café at the end of my visit for lunch. I followed the tour route which has plenty of informative info boards telling the story of crime and punishment in 19th century Liverpool. The holding cells are a chilling reminder of days gone by and the steps leading up to the court room are a real surprise. The spectacular Great Hall is stunning. All in all a fascinating place.
