“A must-see”
Reviewed 16 August 2014 via mobile

As a first time visitor to Liverpool I did some research online as to what to visit. St. George's hall was high on my list and I wasn't disappointed. The café as you enter was very welcome for a warming drink! I even went back to the café at the end of my visit for lunch. I followed the tour route which has plenty of informative info boards telling the story of crime and punishment in 19th century Liverpool. The holding cells are a chilling reminder of days gone by and the steps leading up to the court room are a real surprise. The spectacular Great Hall is stunning. All in all a fascinating place.

“What a stunning floor!”
Reviewed 14 August 2014

Popped in to the St George's Hall yesterday and found that it was the last day this year that the Milton Floor was on display (then being covered with a wooden floor for another year). What a stunning floor it was - set off at both ends my beautiful stained glass windows, and at the end a Magnificent Organ (the third largest in the Country - the largest being at the Liverpool Anglican Cathedral. Also on show are the old Prison Cells, Old Courthouse and some stunning Tapestries.

“Awesome”
Reviewed 13 August 2014

Luckily we visited on 13th August, the last day to view the Milton floor before it's covered again. Architecture, sculpture, stained glass, organ, visit to the old Crown Courts, prisoners cells below. Whipping posts and whipper to explain. What Victorians could do with wealth!

We took the conducted tour which was fun and informative. The guide was excellent. We visited many areas of the hall. Afterwards we had coffee and a snack at the café which was good value and quality

“Excellent as always”
Reviewed 10 August 2014

I have been in here a number of times, but went in this time to see the floor which is only available to view for a short time each year. I was also with a friend who no longer lives in Liverpool and had not seen aspects of the building.

It is always enjoyed by any visitors to the area we have taken in to the building.
