“You barely get what you pay for”
Reviewed 2 October 2011

I totally understand the phrase 'you get what you pay for' however, I still expected to get a little bit more for my approx €35 per night. We stayed in a room for three. Lucky we knew each other very well! There was barely standing room and all we had with us were 3 ryanair sized bags. I have seen bigger toilet areas (just couldnt use the word bathroom) in caravans!! We could also hear word for the word the conversation of the couple staying in the room beside us. My last gripe was that the room stunk when we arrived. Had to open the window straightaway.

On the plus sized the reception and cafe area was lovely and it was walking distance (max 10min) to the docks and city centre area. Also, it right beside a decent casino if that is something that tickles your fancy.

After tiring journey all I was dreaming about was a shower and a good sleep but to my surprise I didn't get just that. Staff at the reception was very helpful, friendly, professional and quick (nobody like waiting too long). Room me and my friend got had a very high standard of cleanliness, everything looked neat and tidy. Although bathroom was a bit claustrophobic, I was very happy to stay over at the Dolby Hotel and I'll surely do it again, since it's very close the airport.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the river have a beautiful view at night.

Again stayed here on buisness and due to the Campanile being fully booked I was booked in here for the remainder of my stay. Rooms seemed a bit dated and plasticy! Bathrooms very confined but again had everyrhing you would need. Did not eat here but did have several beers from the bar before & after sampling Liverpools nightlife and I must say the Staff (night staff in particular) were very accomadating.

Great little base to explore Liverpool as with the Camapanile (next door) its within walking distance of Albert docks & City Centre. Plus there is a great club/bar directly opposite over the road, which i did not find out about until my last night. Had a great time in Liverpool & thanks to the random band who gave me a lift in the back of there van back to the hotel.

A perfect hotel for a daytrip to Liverpool,
the hotel is located near (10min walk) the major hotspots like the Albert Docks, Liverpool One.
we stayed at the hotel for one night and even had lunchthere, the food was excellent, and even for a reasonable price. The terrace is located near the harbour so you have a great view over the docks,

Perfect hotel for low budget.

This hotel is excellent value. 44 Euros for two people (three in fact as the room could sleep three people). The room was small, but it was clean and it served its purpose. It's in Queen's wharf, a nice area of Liverpool, close to the main points of interest of the city. I have plans to go back to Liverpool and would not hesitate to stay there again. Friendly and helpful staff, wi fi, lots of channels, etc. Awesome!

hi spent the bank holiday weekend at the dolby.good value for money staff were the best you could find anywhere.food in the cafe bar very good and average price.nice walk into centre despite the typical b.h. weather top bands inthe pubs and outdoor stages especially the cavern pub and club. the only minor gripe and its the same as most other peoples is the small pod style bathrooms.but it did nt spoil our stay there. keith and roly delderfield.

Room Tip: ask for a riverside room.nice view and quieter at night.
