I first stayed here 10 years ago when my son was younger. Returned with my Granddaughter and it was just how I remembered it. Rooms small and basic but a perfect no frills place to stay. Food is again basic but very reasonable.

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking the dock are quieter

we booked for I night for a room for 3 people. the room was small but was spotlessly clean and well-equipped and we thought it was excellent value for money. it was conveniently located for the docks and town and having on-site parking was a bonus. if you only want a room for a comfortable nights sleep as your out and about enjoying Liverpool then this hotel is for you. although the hotel was very busy it was not noisy either.

Room Tip: didn't have air con so take a fan

We stayed at the hotel for 3 nights using it as a base for the open golf. The room was adequate with a window overlooking the dock. The bathroom was very small with a shower behind a curtain. Breakfast was ok but limited. We found that some items were not restocked on the 2nd morning. Qe didn't eat in the evening in the hotel.

I stayed here, in a twin room, for the weekend of the Giant Spectacular.

The location is good, a short (10 min or so) walk to the city centre. The restaurant on the ground floor leads out on to the waterfront and it's possible to eat and drink outside, which is very relaxing - although we didn't try their food so can't review that.

The room could be best described as basic. There's no air conditioning, and in 26c heat, it's very uncomfortable - especially at night. The wet room and toilet were tiny, which wouldn't be such an issue if the shower was more powerful than pouring a watering can with hot water over yourself. It just about did the job, but it wasn't the best experience.

Staff were very friendly and helpful and this could be a decent budget hotel if they can manage to iron out the basics. I wouldn't return until they have done though.

Booked this hotel last minute during a very busy weekend in Liverpool , the price we paid reflected this , hotel is budget , rooms compact to say the least and the smallest bathroom I've ever seen but the room was spotlessly clean and well equipped , the staff very friendly and welcoming . Had a meal in the bar food was very good and reasonably priced. The only down side was that the room was like a sauna on the first night and there is no air con . Over all a nice hotel but at the time we stayed it was expensive for the size/type of room.would use again if the price was different or if was going on a girls trip.

This hotel was an absolute bargain, with free parking too! We stayed two nights and it was better than some 3 star hotels we've stayed at in Liverpool before. The staff were friendly, the room was clean and the bed very comfortable. Having a room on the second floor, overlooking the water, we had a beautiful view as well.

The only thing I could criticise would be the shower room, a pre formed "pod" in one corner of the room, which was perhaps a little cramped, and the lack of an actual wardrobe, but both those points are minor (oh, and there didn't appear to be a lift).

We didn't eat in the restaurant but it looked pleasant, and the hotel is well situated for walking to the city centre or the cathedral etc.

For a budget hotel we were delighted with the hotel, and the staff.

Room was clean and functional, small bathroom. Only let down was the fish I had for dinner was a little dry and why I didn't rate it excellent, but the chicken melt was divine. What shone for this establishment was the staff. A special thanks to Dave on the night shift but thank you to all the staff making our visit special.

Considering location and over all service I would strongly recommend this hotel for those with a tight budget. It was easy to see why our daughter fell in love with Liverpool and chose to go to university in Liverpool. On a tight budget it Dolby made it possible to be at her graduation and to spend time to do some sight seeing in Liverpool
