“Good for a single night stay”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 March 2014

Certainly wouldn't stay any longer. I admire the effort from certain members of staff, meanwhile there are some members that shouldn't be working in the hospitality industry. I am a sucker for good service and if you advertise a hotel as a 'family run business', you would expect to be welcomed in with a smile rather than a "you need to pay up front for the room". I opted for a private en-suite cheapie single room as I was in Liverpool collecting primary data for my university project - the room was smart, did require a slight make over but it had all the essentials. The window throughout the night let in a draft which wasn't ideal, but the bedding was clean and comfy. The breakfast in the morning had a great selection, cereals, juices, fruit etc. but I opted for the cooked breakfast, which personally for me wasn't the way I like so just had some corn flakes instead. Overall I would recommend this to anyone visiting the university or the city centre as its location is perfect and you are looking for a quick stop. Just a short walk from the town centre, train station and just a bus journey away from both of the football clubs but don't expect luxury for the price.

I've stayed here a good few times over the years and really you cannot go wrong.

The place seems to have had a refurb making it an even better choice just now.

The beds are as comfortable as ever and the tv offering was beyond what I see in most cheap hotels-it wasn't just a basic freeview service.

I'm going to be somewhat picky now and make 2 criticisms.

1. This place (and many others for reasons I don't understand) does not give you the wifi code when checking in and nor is it noted somewhere in the room. PLEASE make it more readily available and save customers having to run around the hotel looking for a member of staff who knows it.

2. As I said, the hotel has been "done up" recently but there were some jobs not properly completed. I was in room 14 which was very poorly finished around the bathroom doorway.

I'm being picky because this place is close to perfect at the price.

Highly recommended.

I stayed at the Aachen Hotel for day and found the place to be a strategic Location close to the Liverpool Railway station and City Centre . The staff were friendly and helpful and even gave me a map of the city and pointed me in the right direction towards Goodison Park where I was headed.( By the way I am an Everton Fan) My Room was on the 2nd Floor and had heavy luggage to carry all the way up their as the Hotel did not appear to have a lift . Apart from that the rooms were nice and clean , However next time unless I bring any heavy luggage I may request a room in the Ground Floor. If anyone is headed towards Liverpool this is probably the best place to stay.

I don't usually stay in b & b facilities, but hey I've converted. This place is excellent. Food and accommodation provided is just presented meticulously plus the owner and staff are quite simply friendly and can't do enough for you. If your ever coming to Liverpool for the night or ten then base yourself here. You will feel you have just came home! Well done Aachen, you have restored my faith in bed and breakfast facilities.

Conveniently located between Lime Street station and the University, the Aachen Hotel can't be beaten for friendliness and value. I was on my own and stayed in Room 10 at the rear of the hotel. En suite facilities, TV and free wi-fi, really quiet. Nice touches included 'help yourself' cakes on the bar in the evening and a full English breakfast served by friendly and helpful staff. Would stay here again without a doubt.

I had planned a new trip to Liverpool and I wanted to find a nice hotel, and Aachen was the chosen one and it has been a goal.

The staff is very helpful, the price is excellent, the location is central, breakfast superb and the whole hotel is very clean and silent.
I highly recommend it.

Room Tip: Rooms are quite and comfortable

Just a few minutes walk from the city centre, it is ideally situated. The staff were very friendly & helpful. The room was clean, warm & just the nice size for the 2 of us & had tea-making, iron, trouser press, hair drier, TV, & even a microwave oven.
The breakfast provided (Continental or Full English) was very good.
I would have no hesitation about using the Aachen again or recommending it to anyone.
