Recommend a visit to Liverpool Tate anyway as it's such an pleasant place to visit - so spacious and the labelling just informative, not pretentious. The Mondrian exhibition was impressive, particularly the replicre of his studio with a real person there to tell us about it in an informed and accessible way - lunch in the cafe and a wander round the exhibitions is a really enjoyable way to spend an afternoon in Liverpool. (Family visit - grown up son)

A great exhibition and well laid out. The staff are so friendly and happy to share their knowledge and answer questions. The mini studio brings the work to life.

I only had an hour to spare which is not nearly enough but i couldnt leave liverpool without visiting the gallery. I paid the £10 to visit the temporary exhibition (mondrian and nasreen mohamedi) which was excellent and skillfully curated.
Barely had time to visit the permanent collection. If you have any interest in the visual arts you must visit.
Is it me or are they continuously re-designing the shop?

The Tate Liverpool can be a bit short on interest but this exhibition was well curated and interesting.

As a fan of Mondrian this was a great opportunity to see familiar works of art in the flesh so to speak, however I emerged from the exhibition somewhat deflated by the experience. The letters and photographs were a great bonus but the austere and emotionless atmosphere within the gallery had me feeling that I couldn't get out of there quick enough. Although I am not an academic I have read quite widely about Mondrian's life and works but felt this exhibition made something very interesting seem very dull - very frustrating! Overall I was pleased that I had the experience of seeing his works but felt like I was attending a funeral. Sorry Liverpool Tate - I will give you another go sometime though.

Thank Sarah H
