“Must see!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 August 2014 via mobile

We visited Paul's house and John's as part of the National Trust tour.

As a huge Beatles fan it was amazing to be inside Paul's house- the place where both he & John wrote some of the Beatles early hits. We saw a lot of tourists on the other tours who could only stand outside and take photos, so take the National Trust tour instead and see it from the inside too.

Definitely worth a visit if you are in Liverpool.

“Paul's home”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 August 2014

Our guide told us that about 100 of the Beatles songs were penned right at this location. What struck me most is that so many brilliant songs came out of the Beatles despite the lack of imagery to stimulate them. Penny Lane, Strawberry Field, not much else around.

“Great to SEE”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 August 2014

This was a great tour and a great hjob of the historical society keeping this the way it was back when Paul was a child. The pictures on the wall were done by hs younger brother Michael, who seemed to catch the essence of their life.

“The birthplace of many Beatlesongs”

The Magical Mystery Tour stops at the house.
We couldn't enter, but it was nice to know that you were there, where so many great songs were written.

“Visit both Paul and John's homes with the National Trust”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 July 2014

The only way to see inside both Paul and John's childhood homes is with the National Trust. The minibus picks you up either from the Jury's Inn near the Albert Dock or from Speke Hall, and the whole trip takes approximately two and a half hours, and was extremely well organized. The minibus is always in the right place at the right time to take you to your next destination, the driver was friendly and helpful and, of course, you listen to Beatles music on the journey.

At each home you are met by an extremely knowledgeable guide - the day we visited we were lucky enough to have a husband and wife team, who knew a great deal about the homes and lives of the Beatles. They were very entertaining with lots of anecdotes and funny stories to share. Because the tour is limited to (I think) 15 people, it's very intimate and personal. The highlight was singing in the porch of John's house to hear the acoustics - amazing to be in the place where John and Paul would rehearse together.

A wonderful experience for any Beatles fan - I can't recommend it highly enough.
