This is quite a large area of parkland. There is a restaurant situated in the park which isnt too bad. Very quiet but not outstanding

“South Liverpool Park Land”
Reviewed 29 May 2002

Situated 7 Miles south of Liverpool City Centre in the
Allerton district are Clarkes Gardens. They comprise of acres of lush green grass land and a newly named Hardy Nature Reserve, after a local conservationist. The nature reserve is home to a vast range of plant and
bird life. Flora and Fauna are in particular abundance. This is a peaceful oasis in the city and you could easily forget just where you are.

Also in this Green Belt are Allerton Towers, a well maintained English Garden; Calderstones Park, probably Liverpools finest park, but most busy, and Allerton Golf Course, a municipal course of high quality. All except
the Golf Course have no admitance charges and are in the heart of Allerton, the local district which was home to both John Lennon and Paul McCartney.
