The whole area around the Pier Head is full of remarkable early 20th century architecture, The obvious examples are the famous three: the Liver Building. the Cunard Building and the Port of Liverpool building - but frequently overlooked is the George's Dock Building, an outstanding art deco creation that now serves as the ventilation system for the Mersey Road Tunnel. As well as exploring the immediate Pier Head area, head up Water Street towards the Town Hall for some more interesting architecture of this period.

There is so much to like here. The view of the Mersey, Liver and other buildings are worth seeing on their own. You can catch a one hour Mersey cruise, then there is the Museum of Liverpool, perhaps the best museum I have ever visited, and next door the Albert Dock complex, with ever changing exhibitions. Do not miss it.

Well worth a visit, if you are every visiting Liverpool, the Liver Building across the road with the two Liver Birds on top. you can see the Mersey River up and down from here, and also take a ferry to the Bootle side of the river from here.

The Pier Head is a must if you come to Liverpool.
Take some time to take the Ferry across Mersey. There are two exhibitions at two of the terminals over the other side of the Mersey or just take a round trip. A great photo opportunity.
Plenty of places to see and the museum to go around.

Wonderful backdrop of the 'Three Graces' - large Marine connected buildings with The Liver Building with the 'Liver Birds' on the top. Around the Pier Head is the Liverpool Museum which gives a wonderful glimpse of Liverpool life through the years. Catch a Mersey Ferry and take a tour or take a bus from here around town
