“Go on the ferry for the best views”
Reviewed 26 August 2014

The area around the Pier Head used to be a bit desolate but not any more! It has been cleaned up over the last few years and now makes an attractive place to visit. The three buildings here - the Royal Liver Building, Cunard Building and the Port of Liverpool Building are known as the "Three Graces" and they look stunning, especially if the sun is shining. For the best experience take in all the sights at the waterfront, then go for a ride on the ferry for the best views of the Liverpool skyline from the Mersey.

“The is Liverpool's Heart”
Reviewed 25 August 2014

The Pier Head defines Liverpool. It was once the commercial/maritime focal point of the city, today it is "retired" and offers visitors and residents an amazing array of history, architectural beauty and tourist services connected to Albert Dock. The Pier is dominated by The Three Graces: the Port of Liverpool Building, the Cunard Building and the Liver Building (pronounced Ly-ver). A few years ago the city designated the road in front of these buildings Canadian Boulevard, dedicated to all those Canadians who fought in the Battle of the Atlantic. It is a unique memorial of plaques and maple trees that cement the city’s ties to Canada.
From the Pier Head many hundreds of thousands of emigrants left Liverpool for America, Canada and Australia for new lives. Just across from the Cunard Building and in front of the Liver Buildings is the Titanic Monument, dedicated to the crew-members of that Liverpool registered vessel.
The Pier Head is full of monuments to the sea going events that touched the city and it is the conduit through which you can take a ‘Ferry, ‘cross the Mersey’ and listen to Gerry Marsden (Gerry and the Pacemakers) narrate an interesting history of the ferry service, then experience the WWII U-534 at the Birkenhead ferry terminus. The panoramic view of the Liverpool waterfront from the restaurant at the ferry terminal here is magnificent.
The Pier Head is an absolute must place to visit in Liverpool.

“The ferry and the river”
Reviewed 24 August 2014 via mobile

Me and my very small mate went to the pier and the ferry wow oh god what a nice place sun came out was very picturesque from the river as we steamed up the Merseyside shore line despite my mate leaving he's ticket in the café the horns on the ferry was a bit annoying but the information was interesting historic flow disabled people do get a concession though I thought it a bit miserly at only a pound off the fair.

“Enjoy the breeze”
Reviewed 19 August 2014 via mobile

What's better than just walking under the sun, on the sea front, being battered by the strong ocean breeze? You can't not come to Liverpool and not fight it. Plus on the Pier Head are located the Liver Building, the Cunard Building, the Port of Liverpool Building and the Museum of Liverpool!
