Pier head has amazing buildings if you appreciate lovely old architecture. It also has food stalls & a carnival where all the family can have great fun. There is also some monuments including statute of the Beatles

Made the trip over from home, I used to travel over here from the wirral every day by ferry in the early and mid 70s. Oh how it has changed. Previously you would have all the buses terminating here and it would be chaos. The view in the river direction would be the floating stage, with Isle of Man boats tied up, REA tugs and Alexander Towing tied up, the river itself was littered with ships, some for Birkenhead, some for Liverpool, some for Manchester ship canal...
Now its quiet, almost serene. The chaotic past has gone. Theres only a couple of ferry boats left. You can play "Spot the ship" with your nearest and dearest. But the whole area has been brought into the 21st century. You can stroll along, you can breathe, you can visit the museum and further along the Albert Dock or even Liverpool 1.
There was a festival on when I was there and it was great to have the area alive with people of all ages with smiles on their faces.
The buildings have had a good clean and now stand proud, in the not too distant future to be joined by more and more apartment blocks on the waterfront.
There was a massive queue to be photographed alongside/ in front of the Beatles statues.
Its heading in the right direction.
