My partner and I visited on Bank Holiday Monday as we wanted some brunch before our day out. We were seated quickly but had to ask for the brunch menu as it wasn’t given to us. The table wasn’t cleaned properly before we arrived and the hostess had to quickly wipe down the table leaving bits of blue roll as we sat down.

The meal I ordered was supposed to come with roasted cherry tomatoes and rye toast, but instead there were no tomatoes and it was served on white bloomer bread which was hardly toasted. Poached eggs were also a part of my brunch, but they were a disappointing sloppy mess and the whole thing was presented with little care. I would have brought this up to the staff had they asked how the food was, but alas nobody checked on us to see if everything was ok.

After taking our plates away at the end of the meal nobody came by to ask if we needed anything else and we waited 15 minutes before we got bored of waiting and asked for the bill.

On the positive side my partners Glamorgan sausages were nice, but overall we left completely underwhelmed.

We used the hub for breakfast while staying in Liverpool , lovely spot with a fine Breakfast.

Full English Breakfast with a coke was around 9£/10€. ( Bacon , Sausage , Egg , beans , hash brown , black pudding & Tomato with toast also )

The place was busy but the staff were very friendly and on the ball and kept the place very clean and tidy.

Will return for sure

Good atmosphere and great selection of ales. Food is reasonably good too and fairly priced. Our group had a variety of dishes from light bites to full roasts and had no complaints. Some of the staff could relax and smile more but were generally efficient. Bar staff excellent, knowledgeable and friendly. Cauliflower tempura a bit of a good find, baguette with cheeses was fresh and tasty. Veg with the roasts were nice and crisp.
