I've been to Amber a number of times over the past couple of years and the service and food have been great, however, having booked a table for Bonfire night early to enable us (4 in total) to go to the firework display we waited an hour and 15 mins from point of order to main meal. No explanation or apology until we complained. When it did arrive the food was really poor and overcooked. The restaurant wasn't full. We were told we should have let them know we were in a hurry (not sure how over an hours wait justifies this). We did receive a discount on the meal but my favourite night of the year was ruined as we missed the fireworks. Disappointed doesn't describe it. I will not be returning or recommending.

There were only 7 of us in the restaurant, table of 2 and our party of 5
Service was ok. Thought it could have been a bit quicker considering number in.
Food was good, 3 fish and chips, 2 burgers. All very hot and tasty.

We chose to have our daughters wedding reception at Thornton Manor and Amber was one of the listed caterers.
From our first encounter the proprietor, Faris, was delightful and incredibly accommodating. He bent over backwards to find a menu and style which fitted the wishes of the bride and groom yet was also priced extremely competitively.
We met with him several times and had a taster meal at the bistro restaurant in Liverpool. Each occasion was a pleasure and his flexibility but careful attention to detail filled us with a confidence for the day.
We met some of his staff the day before as they were setting up and they were lovely. On the day several guests commented on how nice the staff were.
Faris played the role of MC on the big day and all went like clockwork despite the fact that it rained all day.
We couldn't have been more pleased with the quality of food and the standard of service. More than anything it was a joy to spend time with such a sweet and kind individual whose attitude has clearly infected all his staff!

We heldd our wedding at the Anglican Cathedral in Liverpool. Faris and his team from Amber Outside Catering were our wedding caterers.

We first met Faris when he came to visit us in person to describe what Amber had to offer. He was professional, honest and clearly very experienced. When we interviewed other caterers, it was obvious who to chose to help us with the catering: Faris with his very down to earth and personal approach won our vote immediately (compared to others who were rather more commercialised and industrial with their approach).

At our first tasting session, which was held in the Amber Bistro, again Faris was there in person to discuss what we liked or didn't like about the food and which bits needed changing. This was a really fun and BIG meal with some of our family members and bridesmaids and ushers. Not to mention the wine tasting as well which resulted in some of us being merrier than others.

As my family were from South England, they came up on a separate occasion and Faris without hesistating offered us another tasting session, which once again exceeded all expectations and my parents knew exactly why we had picked Amber.

Nearing the time of the wedding Faris did not only provide the catering services, he was more or less the guy who ran the whole show and coordinated everything for us; liaising with the Anglican team, our florist, our cake maker and furniture hire companies.

On the actual day, we could not have been any more impressed by Amber. Faris was there to serve our head table. We had a large guestlist of 320 people and every one of our guests felt that all the staff were polite, professional and the food and wine went down very well to say the least.

We cannot recommend Amber enough to be your event caterer no matter how large or small. Faris is so involved with the process, he makes it his own priority to see that not only the food and wine meets standards but that the entire event runs to plan.

Thank you Faris and your team at Amber. Best of luck for the future. We will keep in touch!

We used Amber outside catering for our wedding at Thornton Manor on Fri 16th August 2013.
We had visited the Bistro a few times prior to looking into which supplier to use for our wedding catering and had always been impressed by the quality of the food and service at Amber so when we found out that Amber was one of the preferred suppliers to our venue our minds were already made up.
Upon our first meeting with Faris at Amber we received an exceptional level of service and advice.
The wedding Canape, wedding breakfast and evening option choice was wide and varied.

We decided on 5 canapes for the wedding reception (my favourite being the baby bury black pudding with pancetta and onion marmalade) - all of which were well received by our guests.
Along with being really tasty theyre also very well presented.

The wedding breakfast consisted of freshly baked foccacia with oil & balsamic treacle, Formby asparagus with Parma ham and sundried tomatoes as a starter, rump of lamb with ratatouille and parmentier potatoes as a main and then a trio of deserts (panacotta, chocolate brownie and a summer fruit mess).

The food was as good at the wedding as at the bistro - full of flavour and wonderfully presented.

Ambers staff throughout our experiences with them have been fantastic - they really couldnt have done more for us - so polite and professional - absolute class.

You wouldnt be disappointed if you used Amber outside catering - they really did make our special day that little more memorable and enjoyable.
