“Blown away!”
Reviewed 5 August 2014 via mobile

My wife and I were in Liverpool for a wedding and found this little gem having read the great reviews on Trip Advisor. I was expecting a nice meal. What I got was one of the best meals I've ever had in my life! Completely blown away by all three courses, and the lemon meringue cheesecake nearly ended in divorce... not for sharing!

Just when I thought that was the perfect end to a perfect meal, we got the bill (I thought they had made a mistake, very reasonable). And the lovely owner recommended we wonder down to the beach and see the Antony Gormley sculptures, which were phenomenal.

I'd drive 183 miles to eat here again!

“Overhyped”
Reviewed 3 June 2014

This was our second visit to the Lemon Tree. First time round was quite good, albeit some of the furnishings (namely chairs) could do with their seats sorting. The menu had changed since our last visit and didnt look too appetising or varied enough. We ordered in advance and the service was prompt. However throughout the meal were constantly interrupted to see how things were. A bit over zealous. The main meals were nothing special to write home about and considering these against the Tree House on Coronation Road, the Tree House was much better and more relaxed. We had to wait 40 minutes before someone realised they hadnt asked us if we wanted a desert. In total we were there for 3 hours! how mad is that. Oddly we had to pay by cash only. The bill was a serious of bits of hand written chitty's with prices scribbled all over them. We had no idea whether the bill, or should I say bills, were right. Very unprofessional. There are better restaurants, namely The Tree House, The Fat Italian (both Coronation Road, Crosby), and Barbacoa (Merseyview, Waterloo).

“Fabulous Food!”
Reviewed 3 June 2014

We arrived with 11 guests instead 10, which was met with " no problem" and an extra place was soon set. The food was delicious. We all ate starters and a main course, but no one had room for the desserts.
The cooking was excellent and the service good apart from a delay in getting the bill.
The bistro is obviously popular with locals and with good reason. If we are in the area we will eat there again.

“WONDERFUL”
Reviewed 29 May 2014

Recently spent 3 nights in the Crosby area and once again enjoyed lovely meals on the Friday and Sunday evening. We cannot speak too highly of this restaurant. The menu is varied, the staff are friendly and helpful and chefs are simply outstanding. The quality of the food they prepare is first class.

This is a must visit for us when we have a weekend away in this area. Booking always recommended.
