“Good fry-up”
Reviewed 23 March 2014 via mobile

This more traditional - or perhaps down to earth - cafe was a welcome find amongst the plush bars and restaurants at the Albert Dock as we were in need of a hearty fry-up following a night on the town. We weren't disappointed. We opted for the large breakfast as it was only 75p more expensive than the regular option but even though it was a lot more food and much better value for money. The service was pleasant and swift

“What its really like!”
Reviewed 22 February 2014

Okay, we were looking for a yummy place on Albert Dock to stop by for a little snack after our lunch which was at whats cooking (highly recommenced) also located on the dock. This looked pretty nice from the outside and why the kids love cakes we decided to stop in.

As from the outside it looked so nice, we were surprised to see that there was only two ladies in there eating a salad. And when we went out we saw why.

We sat down on a table that was dirty and full of crumbs. When the waiter came over, and took our orders. I said to her "Um excuse me, this tables dirty" her reply was "I know, its really dirty" and walked off. We were disgraced so I told her "Well are you going to clean it?" Her face went red as she said um ok

After about 5 minutes she came over and wiped the table. But the crumbs went on all our knees which we were not happy with but as more people were in by this time we decided not to make a fuss of it (It was with a piece of toilet paper).

When our cakes finally came after about 15 minutes (this was for 2 cakes as the other 3 did not want any due to cafe conditions). We decided to tuck in. I must admit the cakes were OK but they could have been better.

The chairs was like sitting on rocks and one of ours was dirty and they were all full of crumbs.

We decided we would be in there no longer and we walked out as soon as we could. Will NOT be returning and I advise you to go somewhere like Costa or Starbucks if you want a quick coffee and cake.

Another bad point is there is not a lot of variety and the drinks followed on with the rest of the cafe.

“Poor Customer Service”
Reviewed 25 January 2014 via mobile

On arrival we were nicely greeted as we sat down and decided what to have. We asked for a few moments whilst we decided, before we had another member of staff ask us if we wished to order. We enquired about an offer for a cake and coffee. Enquiring as to whether a Latte would be included. On the second occasion the lady said yes, but it'll cost extra. The mannerism seemed extremely unhelpful. We plumped for a standard coffee and scone. The lady enquired as to whether we wanted jam to which we did. The coffee was a large-ish mug and the scone was nice without being amazing. The jam was one of those little plastic tubs that you get in like b&bs. Upon paying, we were told the price, which seemed higher than we'd expected. It turned out we think that the jam (2 little packets) were 45p each. It wasn't a lot and we'd have still have had it, whether we were told or not, but the principle was that we weren't told. You'd think jam or butter or cream would come with the item, but atleast there was no charge for the butter. Shame as on a previous visit, we'd been extremely happy with the cafe. Sadly we won't return.

Reviewed 22 December 2013

We were looking for breakfast cafe and had walked all the way from Liverpool one to the Albert docks and passed nothing so when we found this cafe who said they would serve breakfast (it was 12:30 & the cafe next door stop breakfasts at 12noon) we we're overjoyed! It was a great little cafe, lovely staff, good service and a good full English breakfast. We were happy customers!

“Not a fan..”
Reviewed 8 November 2013 via mobile

Basically I work on the Albert dock , an when I started I was after a decent brekkie..should of overlooked this cafe..the staff weren't very friendly(fairly rude to be honest) like the rest of the dock , the butty (sausage and egg) wasn't very nice.
And I waited quite a while for it. And it seemed quite expensive for what you get.
Since then I've noticed that..it's not the cleanest cafe.
