Just stayed in this hotel for 3 nights, it comes highly recommended if you are looking for a central location within the city for all sightseeing. It’s across the road from St James’s train station and also the docks , and literally around the corner for all shops , and everything else is more of less within walking distance. The rooms are delightful in this hotel, clean , tidy and very comfortable. Clean towels every day and beds made, with rooms tidied , small selection of tea, coffee and milk in your room that’s replaced every day if used. The bed is very comfortable, room nice and dark once curtains closed, and when the window if closed then not much traffic can be heard either, shower is ok but could be a bit more powerful, but all clean and tidy. Access into the hotel and you’re rooms is with your door card that you get once you have booked in. If you need a hairdryer then ask at reception as they don’t supply them in your room. The bar on the 1st floor is lovely and we found the staff to be very friendly and happy, nice food too (especially late at night / early hours of the morning, chips, pizza, onion rings etc). Would definitely recommend this hotel to single people, families etc for location, and cheap deals are to be had if booking in advance. Oh and Tesco Express is just underneath the hotel which is great, if you need anything.

Excellent location right by the docks, this was my 1st time in Liverpool and have to say I absolutely love Liverpool. Everything is within reasonable walking distance from this hotel, all around the dock area are plenty of attractions and restaurants, tesco express next door to hotel. Friendly staff, quick and painless check in, clean rooms, comfy bed, there is a bit of road noise from rooms facing dock but I slept well. Overall very good value and would stay again.

Room Tip: Try a room at the back if you are a light sleeper.

If you’ve stayed in a Travelodge before you'll know not to expect frills and this hotel is no exception. Our room was clean and on the 9th floor. Our daughter had a fold out bed which was a bit hard but she didn’t seem to mind and exclaimed ‘this is the best Travelodge I’ve ever stayed in!’ (having stayed in a few with us and Grandparents over the years).

This Travelodge has a restaurant for breakfast which was unusal and we pre-booked breakfast. There was plenty of hot food and a reasonable range of cereals/tinned fruit/yoghurts/croissants etc. The food wasn’t cordon blu but good value for what we paid.

We stayed at the back in a family room so no good views for us. Those in the doubles at the front of the hotel would have fab views of the Albert Docks and Liver Buildings. The location of this hotel is really good – just 1 minute form the Albert Dock. 3 mins from Liverpool 1. There is an NCP carpark 30 seconds away (£9.50 or so per day). I was glad we hadn’t taken the train as storing luggage would have been a problem but we were able to store ours in the car.

Overall, a really good stay and great value in a top location. I do hope the hotel is maintained well as it showed some signs of heavy wear already (dents in the lift doors, broken screen on the restaurant TV) but these didn’t affect our stay in any way.

Room Tip: Rooms at the front of the hotel probably have a view of the Mersey. I reckon Room 901 must have the...

stayed 11th - 13th Oct. realley impressed with room which smelt lovely and was cleaned to a very high standard. the duvet and pillows were like home from home. the staff were really friendly and nothing was a bother. The breakfast which we pre- booked was well worth the money. the views over the Albert dock were fantastic and you can also see the liver building from the bar area. the location was ideal and centre for everything. we would most certainly stay here again. well worth the money

Room Tip: we stayed on 7th floor which was really quiet, however our friends were put on 9th were quite a few...

Stayed here for two nights to attend a sports dinner. The hotel is very well located directly opposite the Albert Dock. The room was simple but clean and comfortable. The staff were friendly. This is the third stay here this year. The room is large enough and the bed was very comfy. There is a wall mounted flat screen tv to catch up with the news etc. The bathroom is not the largest but was fine, with a good shower. Remember to take your own toiletries as they are not supplied. There is a kettle/cups in the room to make tea. It is ideal for a base for a few days visiting the city.
Ask for a room on a higher floor to get the best views and it also reduces the traffic noise.
There is a Tesco metro next door plus an ATM - very convenient.
The location is ideal and only two minutes from James Street train station and a five minute walk into the city centre shopping areas. The Albert Dock / museums and obviously the Mersey herself are just across the road. If you are operating to a budget you will be hard pushed to find better. Book well ahead for the best prices.

Room Tip: High floors give the best views over the Albert Dock.

We stayed as a couple at this great Travelodge in September 2013.
The location is tremendous - perfect for our first city break in Liverpool - the rooms at the front of the hotel overlook the docks and to the back (family rooms) your view is at the back of the hotel.
This is a new lodge so everything is brand spanking new.
Parking next to the hotel too.
As far as Travelodges go this is the best we've stayed at, highly recommended - we'd definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Family rooms are at the back (with bath) other rooms at the front (showers rather than baths).
