“Quick break”
Reviewed 2 March 2014

Were only here for one night but it was excellent value. Breakfast exceptional value compared with many other hotels. Unlimited buffet and really quick service for cooked food. Will definitely use this hotel next time we are in Liverpool.

Cheapest of the three city centre Premier Inns, but no less convenient for the city centre, tourist attractions and a couple of minutes from Moorfields metro station.
The rooms were okay, and certainly clean, but could do with a little bit of TLC in places. One room smelled of smoke and the window didn't close completely. The additional bed provided in one room was not comfortable enough to sleep in. Admittedly we didn't comment on this at the time.
The breakfast buffet was excellent, especially with the kids eating for free; the good was fresh and regularly refilled.

My wife and I have normally had good experiences at Premier Inns, but this one was well below par.

There were some good things about it: firstly it is 2 minutes walk from Moorfields station (the route is totally unsigned for some strange reason - but if you take the very short road immediately opposite the hotel entrance and bear right, you're there). Also the staff as always were friendly, helpful and efficient. The breakfast, though expensive at £8.25 each, was excellent, with everything both available and hot. Also the room rate was very cheap, despite our booking only a month in advance.

BUT...the lifts had seen better days, were very 'clunky', and gave the impression they might get stuck at any moment. The decor of the breakfast/dining room seemed out of the 70s. Our room was badly in need of refurbishment: the bath surrounds were warped and damaged, the extractor fan was noisy and the bed was creaky. The window was far from soundproof and even on a Sunday night we could hear street noise.

But the worst was that from 9pm onwards, presumably 2 kids had been put to bed in the room immediately above us. There was a continuous banging, thumping etc as they ran across the room, jumped up and down on the floor and did who knows what else. When it got to 10.30pm with no end in sight, I tried to phone reception, but the very old-fashioned phone in the room did not work on the '1234' number given us on check-in. So I had to go down to complain. To give them their due, they apologised, and said it would be dealt with immediately and that 30-minute checks would be made thereafter. Indeed the noise stopped almost straightaway, but only for us to be woken just before midnight by its resumption, just as bad as before. We then heard raised adult voices and it stopped again. Presumably staff had checked again as promised, and contacted the parents. But our sleep was still interrupted and the totally non-soundproof floors were ultimately to blame (apart from the delinquent kids involved and their parents).

There were also a number of football fans staying, but they caused no problem at all!

I suppose I could have claimed my money back, but I didn't want the hassle, and felt sorry for staff saddled with a 'quiet night' guarantee but a building that is not fit for that purpose. Perhaps, at the very least, they should try to put kids on the ground floor.

Room Tip: Ask for the top floor if you want to avoid our experience!

Well placed for city centre especially cavern club and shopping which are 5-10 minutes away. Stayed to watch my team play Liverpool with anfield 15 mins away by Taxi costing no more than a reasonable £7.50. Very busy hotel with many Liverpool fans staying from around Europe to watch their team, due to this bar very busy and nowhere to sit at night. Breakfast disappointing next morning with food overcooked and very slow coming out. Car parking opposite which costs £8.50

This hotel was great, although it did take a while to check in and I wasn't very happy at the fact that there was only 30 mins free wifi and not enough electrical appliances. However, the room was very spacious, clean and modern, and also very comfy!!

Well situated for the city centre. Busy but bar/reception area well run and reception friendly. Room typical, thought it was clean enough till we found a pair of previous guests underpants next to the children's bed! So if anyone's missing some blue Calvin's! ...still would go back as everything else about the stay was good!

The premier at Moorfields is closely located to Liverpool One shopping centre. A short walk away are the docks, the Empire theatre and Lime street station. We booked two family rooms; both were clean and comfy and equipped with everything we needed. Staff were polite and helpful... In particular we were pleased that we were able to leave our suitcases at the hotel prior to check in, when we arrived early morning. This allowed us to enjoy a day out without our luggage. The full breakfast we ordered was also very good and plenty was offered. The only downfall was that the tables in the restaurant were very close and there was not a lot of room to move in and out when getting food. The restaurant however was very busy and each table taken.
