In town on Friday night before a lunchtime football game Saturday. Arrived mid evening and was greeted by very friendly reception staff who immediately reserved a table for us in the hotel restaurant.
After a quick refreshing shower in the superb bathroom I took a few minutes to soak my sumptuous surroundings. Large balcony, enormous bed, wood flooring throughout, big TV, and contemporary decor. All very stylish.
Dinner was another treat. Signs were good when I walked in and spotted a famous Italian chef enjoying his meal. Very reasonably priced menu with suggested wine accompaniments (why don't more places do that?). Had a wonderfully flavoured steak that makes me hungry every time I think about it.
And so to bed. Rooms are very well soundproofed from outside noise. The bed was great and gave me my first good night's sleep for some time. Alarm call and paper arrived as requested. The shower (wet room style) caused me a moment of panic when water started to head along the floor for the bedroom. Something must have happened to the slope of the floor in the bathroom as it looks like this happens ever time the shower is used for 5 minutes or more.
Breakfast was another big tick for this hotel. Great selection and very friendly staff. Checked out early for the game on Saturday - I'll not review that one :-( making this a very short stay. Short but sweet.
