“Very poor.”
Reviewed 30 May 2014

We booked for the weekend so that we can attend a wedding in Liverpool. First impressions of the hotel were good while we were in the lobby. However, as soon as we got out of the lift on the fourth floor it was apparent how noisey the place is. The hotel is built around an atrium and to be honest it feels like an old fashioned prison with landings.
In the room things didn't get better. The noise in the atrium was terrible, there is no sound proofing to the doors.
The air conditioning wouldn't work properly, the dial on the wall was broken. The mini bar is empty and turned off, the electric kettle in the room carries a label stating it was last safety tested in 2007 and next test is due in 2008!! The iron is broken!
I'm extremely disappointed, this isn't what I expect from a 4 star hotel. And certainly not a cheap hotel. I've stayed in many radisson blu hotels before and have never been disappointed until now.
I certainly will not be back.

Dear Paul O,

Thank you so much for your wonderful 5 star review. Your comments about our staff are always greatly appreciated and I will pass on to Vicky your great review! In regards to the valet car parking service we offer we do our very best to ensure all our guests are not kept waiting too long whilst we get their car brought around as it can be busy on the front desk. I am so glad that you were satisfied with your river view room, The Filini Restaurant and White Bar as the happiness of all of our guests is most important to us and all the staff here. We do hope to see you again soon.

Thank you and Kind regards,

Ruth Sherlock and all the staff at Radisson Blu Liverpool

I stayed here for 3 nights and I have to say it was one of my most pleasant hotel stays. The hotel is in a great location in the business district and a 10 minute walk will bring you into the city centre. The hotel rooms were clean and comfortable, we had a twin room and while the bed was most comfortable, I would have preferred if the beds had been separated but that is a personal thing! The staff were the highlight of the hotel, just so incredibly helpful and friendly. I would not hesitate to recommned this hotel to friends and family. I have noted that others have commented on the distance from town, but I truly felt 10 mins brisk or 15mins leisurely walk would take you to town. In saying that we got taxis at night. Re breakfast, I thought it was plentiful and tasty with plenty of choice.

Stayed for two nights and really liked the hotel. Room was very comfortable and overlooked the Mersey with great view. All the staff were very friendly. We used room service which arrived quickly and the food was lovely. Very convenient for shops and waterfront but in a slightly quieter area.

Travelled to this hotel this bank holiday weekend with GB Tours and cannot praise this hotel enough. There were 12 of us and everyone agreed that everything was first class. Clean comfortable room, excellent food and staff friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. Thank you Chris and your staff for looking after us so well. We will definitely be back.

My husband and I travelled to Liverpool from Glasgow for the May Bank Holiday weekend. Our Sat Nav didn't take us anywhere near the Hotel so I had to call and ask for directions. The young man from the Hotel did a fantastic job directing us as there were lots of one way streets and the traffic was quite busy plus there was a wedding on at the Hotel and buses were offloading guests etc. When we got there we were told that to park our car it would be £20 per night so as we were there for 2 nights that was £40. Not too happy about that as it now bumps up the cost of your hotel stay. We found an NCP car park round the corner for £15 per night, not much cheaper but what could you do. The check in was painless and the room was on the 7th Floor. If you wanted to upgrade to Buisness Class for a room overlooking The Mersey it was and extra £40. Room was ok but nothing special for 4*. TV stations were minimal, no Freeview, I thought all Hotels had Freeview! Only 2 milks were beside the coffee cups so what would happen if you wanted another cup of coffee later in the day? No biscuits either! Carpets were a little stained and the dressing table was covered in something sticky. The bed was very comfy though with white linen and soft pillows. Noise coming from the bathroom all night like water running into the cistern. Breakfast was good with plenty of choice but the hot breakfast area was quite untidy with spillages etc. Had to ask for our coffee on the Sunday morning as no-one approached us when we sat down. On checking out we had a charge against the mini bar which was empty. The notice on the mini bar stated it was empty for the guests own use so why would we be charged for it? We had put water into it as the room was far too hot and the air conditioning was useless. The receptionist advised the mini bar was fitted with sensors? Why? The Hotel was about 15-20 mins walk to anything so not too handy for shops etc but ok if you fancy a walk. I've been in far better 3* Hotels with better TV stations so don't know why it's classed as 4*.

Room Tip: You have to have Business Class to get a room overlooking The Mersey or upgrade which costs you.

Dear glasgowlassy,

Thank you for taking the time to write your review. I am glad to hear that the staff where able to accurately describe the location of the hotel and that you found us okay. Being a city centre hotel, parking is at a premium unfortunately; no hotel offers free parking in the centre. We have a few options available to guests, we have a valet service were the car is parked and brought back to the hotel and is stored in a secure underground car park. This needs to be booked in advance. Alternatively there is a NCP or Capital car park located a few minutes’ walk away from the main entrance.
We do offer upgrades to our Business Class rooms which feature river views, bathrobes and slippers, complimentary breakfast and Nespresso coffee machine for an additional fee. We also have some standard rooms which feature river views however these are subject to availability.
I have passed your comments on to the housekeeping team and also the breakfast team to ensure that when you stay with us again we exceed your expectations.
We look forward to welcoming you again and hope that we exceed your expectations on your return visit.

Kind regards
Chris, Front Office Manager

Dear steviewonder1,
Thank you for your 4 star review, your comments are very much appreciated. I'm glad you found the room, breakfast and our team to be the highlights of your stay, we work hard to provide a warm and comfortable environment. I do apologise about the sour milk, we have investigated the cause of this and will ensure it doesn’t happen again. Our housekeeping department does try to ensure that rooms are serviced promptly, though sometimes on busier days it can be a little delayed and I do hope this did not cause you too much inconvenience. I very much hope we can welcome you to the Radisson Blu Liverpool again in the future.

Kind regards

Chris Knapman, Front Office Supervisor.
