“Noisy and badly lit rooms”
Reviewed 6 December 2013

Have stayed in many Premier Inns but this one does not come up to the mark of others. I understand that it is a listed building and there are problems with sound proofing an old building of this type. We were in room 202 and it was extremely noisy from outside from early morning, the cold also seemed to come in from the windows. The windows were the full length of the room, the curtains were very long and very difficult to pull perhaps a pulley could be fitted. I'm surprised that curtains and fittings have not been ripped down as you need some force to draw them. The bedroom was very badly lit, the bedside lights had lampshakes which stops most of the light from projecting to enable to read comfortably. There were 3 ceiling lights over the dressing table area, but nothing near the wardrobe so it made it difficult to find what you were looking for. The restaurant was equally badly lit. On the plus side the staff were very helpful. Love Liverpool, however this experience has not put me off Premier Inns but would not stay in this one again. Sorry

Dear Janine B,

Thank you for reviewing the hotel. I am sorry to see that we did not quite meet your expectations. This Premier Inn is difficult to compare with other PI's from a building and bedroom interior perspective.

The tall floor to ceiling windows in some of the rooms is certainly unique to this Premier Inn. We haven't had many issues concerning the falling down of curtains. With regards the lighting, our lighting is in line with Premier Inn standards, however, in previous reviews, other guests have commented on this.

Inkeeping with listening to what our guests are saying, I have a rolling programme of increasing the lighting in some of the more perceived darker rooms, which is now well under way.

I'm sorry that you don't intend to stay with us again, and would urge you to reconsider. Thank you again for your review.

Kind Regards

Ian Callaghan

actually writing this review at 6.15am after the worst night ever in a hotel and from the noisiest room I think in the whole hotel.
Room 1 on the Mezzanine
Hardly slept due to the noise, since 4.30am varies deliveries to places around and carts being pulled over cobbled ground outside the window, thought that the window must be open slightly , but NO. Worst sleep ever!!!!
Also very noisy from people passing after night out , singing , talking etc.
I never usually complain but this is a extremely noisy room, avoid this part of the hotel.

Dear Alice O,

Thank you for taking the time to review the Premier Inn Liverpool Albert Dock.

Due to low volumes, a decision was made to close the first floor bar/restaurant during the afternoon's, however I can fully appreciate why you would want to have lunch in an area of the hotel which has such great dock views.

Thank you once more for your review, and we hope to see you again soon.

Kind Regards

We stayed here for 2 nights as booked Mrs Browns Boys at The Arena. Lovely hotel tastefully renovated and clean. The staff were friendly and the bar very comfy we didn't eat at the hotel though so can't comment on the food, but the plates passing us looked good. Parking is £15 for 24 hours by the hotel but there is cheaper within a 5 minute walk. Perfect for the town centre and The Arena is across the road.

Dear Fiona F,

Thank you for awarding us a five star review based on your recent visit to us. Car parking is limited due to the location, however, you point out that there is a car park which is a five minute walk away.

For any future guests, this is the multistorey car park, for which the hotel offers a 25% discount based on a 24 hour car park stay.

Thank you again for your review, and we look forward to seeing you again very soon.

Kind Regards

The hotel is in the famous Albert Dock and is ideal for exploring the the city. As with all Premier inns i found the room clean and comfortable. Premier Inn have managed to keep a lot of the old features of the warehouse and this adds to the experience of staying here. We stayed in room 325 which overlooks the Albert Dock.

We did have dinner in the Tyme restaurant. The food was just ok but i found the service a little disapointing. It was not that busy but we waited 50 minutes for our meals to arrive. The staff seemed really disorganised.
Breakfast was a lot better, the food as always was very good.

If your looking for a good value for money hotel in a great location then look no further. However i would not recommend eating dinner here. There are some nice restuarants near by.

Dear steviejay65,

Thank you for posting a review of the hotel. I'm happy to see that we met most of your expectations.

I will be discussing your dinner feedback with the restaurant team, as the wait you experienced was longer than it should be. Pleased to read that the breakfast service and quality was more in keeping with our usual standards.

The hotel is fantastically located, and room 325 certainly provides some great views of the Dock.

Thank you again for your review, and we look forward to welcoming you back in the near future.

Kind Regards

Stayed at Premier Inn Albert Dock on recommendation of friend and we were also seeing show at Echo Arena which is opposite. The premier inn retains the original brick walls of the old tobacco warehouse and has been tastefully renovated. Room was clean and normal premier inn standards. The only negative point was that the room was a little bit dark. Full breakfast was excellent good choice. We found the left luggage facility very useful.

Dear SophieStafford,

Thank you for taking the time to post a five star review of the hotel. Pleasing to read that you stayed with us based on a friend's recommendation, and you in turn rated us as highly as you did.

The lighting in some of the rooms can be somewhat dark, and I am in the process of improving the lighting in some of the more perceived darker rooms. These rooms are generally dark due to overhanging arches which limit natural daylight and are impacted further with grey skies.

Thank you again for awarding us a top rating, and hopefully we will see you again soon.

Kind Regards
