“Best Premier Inn in Liverpool!”
Reviewed 4 February 2013

We have stayed in all 3 city centre hotels in Liverpool and although Albert Dock has the atmosphere, Liverpool One is definitely the best one in my opinion. We stayed the first weekend of its opening and while it was naturally spotlessly clean it still had a good vibe about it. The staff were very polite and helpful even though they were learning on the job. We got an excellent deal because it was the first weekend of opening, but I would opt to stay in this hotel everytime now.
It is close to all amenities, round the corner from the railway and bus stations and there is a multi-storey car park adjacent to the hotel where you get discount for parking there. Its only a short walk away from Albert Dock and the Echo Arena. Liverpool One shopping centre is over the road and there's a Tesco next door should you run out of anything!! The pubs and bars are close by, and although it is on a main road there is no noise.
The best part about it is the security aspect. Its on a main road however you can only get to the Reception area on the 2nd area without a pass key. There are security on the door on an evening, who were very friendly and helpful, so you feel safe. We had a great weekend stay for Christmas shopping. It was so close to the shopping centre we could go back and drop off the bags before venturing out again!! I would recommend this hotel everytime

stayed here 1st weekend of January, had booked 7 rooms, for family & friends, Fantastic location, nice clean, new premier inn, Close to transport connections, and smack bang in the middle of shops, pubs and restaurants, 5 Min walk to Liverpool one shops & a good 5-10 min walk to Albert Dock, I have stayed in this area before, & know the area well, would highly recomend.

This hotel is simply the best Premier Inn we have stayed in. We found it to be spotlessly clean and the room was a typical Premier Inn style, large and spacious, we stayed for 5 days from Sun 20th Jan and got a good rate by booking early, but what makes this hotel stand out from the crowd is the fantastic way the staff look after you, every member of staff we dealt with treated us as if we were special and made us feel very welcome. Would like to say thanks to all, but special thanks to Liberty, Ann, Liz and Sean they really excelled themselves. The main shopping is just a short walk across the road, no more than 5 minutes away, Albert dock approx 10 minutes away. We will definitely stay here again.

This place has only been open for 1 month so couldn't go wrong with the room. Ok it had a great view of the car park, but I'm not here for the views.
Decided to eat on site as couldn't be bothered to hunt around for a nice restaurant. Bought the meal deal at £22.99, 3 courses and a pint. Didn't Finnish the pint as I don't do beer. First 2 courses wre fine, duck wraps and salad and an 8oz steak with onion rings and pepper sauce which should have cost me another 3 or 4 quid. Being diabetic I couldn't do the desserts but asked if I could have a cheese platter as this is what I had done at other premier inns. Unfortunately they had not ordered enough cheese due to being so quiet and the duty manager explained this. I then asked if he could take the cost of the onion rings off my bill, the waitress said she didn't think she could do this. The duty manager then told me he had swapped the dessert cost against the cost of the onion rings AND the pepper sauce. That is great customer service - not just meeting the customers expectation but surpassing it. Well done. This is the service that keeps punters coming back.
Excellent location in the heart of the city, will be back.

Room Tip: Go for the meal deal - excellent value.

Thank you for your lovely comments, if you stay with us again feel free to call us prior to arrival and ask if its possible for a view over Hanover street, it's great for people watching and you can see into BBC radio merseyside studios

In regards to the meal deal if you don't like beer you could have wine or a soft drink, sorry to hear their was insufficient cheese but glad the duty manager was able to deal with hings on the evening

we look forward to welcoming you again soon

I think this brand has it fairly spot on. It's not claiming to be a posh hotel, but it is a damn comfortable one. Feels very new, and certainly looks purpose built. Close to transport connections, and smack bang in the middle of shops, pubs and restaurants. I stayed one night, in a comfy bed, with a hot, well pressured shower.

I was in Room 219, a corner room, with a fair amount of space. My friend was in room 218 which had a chaise lounge in the room - nice little extra ;-)

Will on reception was extremely helpful, and had a lovely smile.

We stayed a Sunday night for a mere £19 per room - BARGAIN!

Room Tip: 219 is a nice corner room 218 has a chaise lounge

Were do i begin..... firstly it took me a while to find the place,so i tried ringing the hotel but only managed to get through to a call centre who didn’t have a clue where i was ...so after wandering aimlessly for the next 20 minutes i eventually found it! I have to say whilst the upper half of the buildiing was quite impressive the lower half left little to be desired ( black mdf boards all along the sides of the building)
The check in was fast but felt like I was ordering a burger at macdonalds (very robotic) -considering it was my first time at the Hotel I would have liked a little more of a natural conversation.
when i got upto my room i have to admit although on the small side it was quite pleasant, however upon further examination the room was quite un clean and considering this is a new build i would expect much higher standards- but perhaps thats just me! the room had quite a cold feel to it not something you want during this time of the year. My check out was almost as quick as my check in clearly they were looking forward to the next lot of guests to arrive!!
Over all i have to say im dissapointed with my stay after reading such great things about the 'new premier inn' I feel that the Albert dock site has a better feel and in general the rooms are smaller than the slightly older and smaller premier inns that I have stayed in.

Oh no, our first and hopefully last poor review, I'm really sorry you weren't happy with a few things, I hope this helps for any future stay, we never like a guest leaving unhappy, it's frustrating for us that someone from Liverpool doesn't know where we are and struggled to find us

When calling, you get an option to contact the call centre or the hotel, if you choose the hotel the team will do everything possible to direct you
The lower half of the hotel with black mdf boards along the sides of the building belongs to a developer who is fitting out for a new restaurant, they have to black it out for the work to take place, they will be removed in April when the hotel opens
We have an express check in kiosks, this is designed for guests that often stay at a Premier inn and want a quick and easy check in, I'm sorry you felt it was impersonal, if you stay again you can be checked in via the laptop which is slightly slower but more personal
Sorry the room felt unclean, reception is manner 24hours and someone is always available to clean a room if you feel it's not to a high standard on arrival, all rooms have air conditioning and heating controls sorry it felt cold
We don't actually do a check out at Premier Inn, everything is done on arrival to ensure you can quickly depart on your departure day, this however shouldn't make any guest feel we don't have the time to spend with them

Once again we are sorry to hear that Liverpool One has not met your expectation, I'm really please that you have always enjoyed the Premier Inn Albert Dock, it is a beautiful location

If you do decide to visit us again please inform any of our team at the time of any issues you may occur so we can quickly resolve them for you

Thank you for your feedback

Stayed here two nights early January .Location is great near to everything shops, restaurants and pubs.Rooms very spacious and spotless clean very comfy nights sleep.Staff very helpful and friendly, i couldnt say a bad word about one of them.Breakfast was lovely and well cooked and there was great variety to choose from but dinner really does need to be improved on .I had to hand the steak back because it couldnt be chewed but when it was handed back ,they did give me something else no problem and said sorry but out of the six of us that had dinner not one would say they would eat dinner there again,as the quality wasnt in it ,and it just wasnt worth the money paid, We got a far nicer meal in ceasers the following night for less money. I also feel they could do with night security downstairs in the lobby for people coming in by night as i know you have a card to open the door from the outside but theres nothing stopping someone from walking in behind your back and reception isnt on the ground floor, but this is a brand new hotel and maybe this could be addressed in future Yes we will stay here again the next time we visit Liverpool but we will give the dinner a miss

Thank you for your feedback, sorry to hear you found the menu wasn't good value for money, did you know we offered a 3 course meal deal, which includes an 'all you can eat' breakfast & free drink, the 3 course option also includes rump steak for £22.99, you can find a link on our website, I hope it helps with future stays at any Premier Inn, however you are spoilt for choice when you stay at Liverpool One because there are so many lovely bars & restaurants within the city
In regards to security, we always have security on the doors Friday / Saturday & large football events, guests not staying at the hotel can come to reception however the lifts will not allow any non resident to a higher floor without swiping there room key, again the room key is needed to gain access to the corridor and bedroom door
I'm so pleased to hear you will happily stay with us again, any feedback is more than welcome and most definitely appreciated

We look forward to welcoming you again soon
