Landlord discriminated on age. Awful manners. Please avoid. We were kicked out of this pub for no particular reason. Dave, the landlord could not give is a coherent answer as to the reason for out removal.

This pub has to be consistently the best pub in Liverpool for serving a great range of beer's served in absolutely perfect condition.
We were here on a Wednesday afternoon on a real ale pub trail and after a quick study of the beer's on offer my twin brother Stephen and I decided to both have Ossett Brewery Yorkshire Blond and this ale was superb and we just chilled out and took in the great pub we were in .
The pub itself is awesome and it's what a pub should look like ,and all wood interior with a fabulous serving bar and nice advertising enamels around the walls.
The real ale we were served was delicious and we savoured every drop,this is why I love going to The Dispensary Pub as you know your assured a great pint at a fair price.
As we had a number of other pubs we planned to visit we reluctantly moved on but as on every other visit to here we had a great time.
The Dispensary Pub is really easy to locate on Renshaw Street.
Opening hours are;
Sunday to Thursday,Midday till 11pm.
Friday and Saturday,Midday till Midnight.
A great pub and well worth a visit.

Very friendly staff, good selection of beer, and a great location. If you're after a nice Liverpool pub, this is the place.

Raved about this place to some British expats living abroad. Took them to the dispensary to meet some friends, turns out our friends were in a different pub. Used the facilities because when you gotta go you gotta go! Baldy fella decided to get in a young ladies face (presumably for using the toilet) and aggressively told her to get out. This caused a great deal of stress and completely ruined our night and any happy memories we had of Liverpool. Will NEVER return. Sort yourselves out and stop ruining lives

I have now read the reviews regarding the very rude owner of this pub and all i can say is even if this is his idea of a joke it is not mine. My partner took me there for what I thought was going to be a nice drink to celebrate my birthday, it turned out to be a not very good experience, the landlord and lady are out of order with their attitude to paying customers and could have quite easily ruined what was a special day for me. Fortunately small minded people don't get to me, however the pub is not worth a visit and i would not recommend it, Liverpool has far superior pubs with much nicer staff to chat and converse with. And even if his attitude is tongue in cheek, it is not acceptable.

Nice decor and good cask ale, but the owner needs serious lessons in customer relations. He grabbed our bags without asking and put them on the floor scolding us that we were "taking up seats in HIS pub" and said we didn't read the warning signs posted. We were in corner seats where no one else could join us. A simple, polite request would have sufficed, instead of rude chastising. We left immediately and will never return.
