“A fine traditional pub”
Reviewed 28 May 2014

This is an ever present in the CAMRA's Good Beer Guide, which says it all really. The staff are very friendly and the beer is of a very high standard. A tiny pub tucked away near St. Luke's church. Food is served and I can't fault this truly great place to call in for a couple of pints of the real stuff.

“Lovely”
Reviewed 23 May 2014

This is a truly old fashioned pub with a great selection of real ale, my only complaint was that there was not a Porter on sale the day we visited. The landlady however, couldn't have been friendlier and even went down to the cellar and poured us 2 straight from the barrel of what she thought was the darkest ale she had on sale that day and it was lovely. the set out of the pub is quaint and definitely worth a visit

“Perfect Pub, Amazing Ales”
Reviewed 18 May 2014

This tiny pub is a true hidden gem. We love the little rooms and the original décor is truly amazing. There is a fabulous choice of beers that are changed throughout the evening and the idea of the small try of 1/3 pint glasses makes it even better, especially when you cannot decide which to try next. Highly recommended.

“Award winning pub”
Reviewed 7 April 2014

A warm welcome greeted us on a visit to The Roscoe Head for pre-races brunch on Ladies Day at Aintree. This cosy, little pub is hidden down Roscoe Street off Hardman Street and has won many CAMRA awards over the years for its real ales.
The staff are welcoming and friendly with good knowledge of the real ales and wonderful Scouse humour. The landlady is one in a million and I can thoroughly recommend this pub on a visit to Liverpool.

“The best pub in the area”
Reviewed 2 March 2014

Enjoyed a pint for old times sake recently having been a regular lunch time visitor many years ago. A time when the conductor of the RLPO , Sir Charles Groves, regularly lunched there on half of Guiness and a pork pie. Nice guy too.
Still has the charm, good beer and smiley atmosphere as years ago.
Last week a visitor asked me where The Dispensary was. I put him right and pointed him in the direction of The Roscoe Head where he would have enjoyed a drink without having to meet the very unpleasant 'Dave.'
