“Birthday cocktails”
Reviewed 28 February 2014

My sister organised a girlie treat for my birthday and we were booked in to PIMA for cocktails before heading somewhere else for lunch. After and uncomfortable few moments in the revolving door (I managed to get stuck) we were shown to our booth and provided with menus. My Mum is in a wheelchair and there was plenty of space to navigate around, and for her to sit at the entrance of the booth and reach the table. In fact it didn't feel like she was in her wheelchair at all. The staff were friendly and helpful and the cocktails were fabulous. I was then presented with a beautiful plate with two little cakes on it and the words Happy Birthday scrolled in chocolate - I thought my sister had arranged this, but she hadn't - not many establishments go that extra mile nowadays and this was a lovely surprise. We will most definitely be back.

“Comedy Champagne Tea - so bad it was funny”
Reviewed 29 December 2013

Champagne tea for girls pre wedding celebrations. Party of 25. The waiter served the first glasses of champagne successfully. The next tray of champagne he dropped over one of the girls- ok accidents happen. The third tray went the same was as the previous tray over two different girls - obviously we didn't realise there was a wet t-shirt competition. This meant that there were some girls down the other end of the table who actually did have some champagne but at our end - nothing. The management sent over two complimentary bottles of champagne but we still had no glasses and had to toast the bride to be with water. In the meantime they brought out the tea and coffee but we sent it back because after almost an hour we still didn't have our champagne. When the sandwiches came out they were stale and some crusts were even curly. We complained and received some replacement sandwiches but then discovered some of us had no cutlery because the table had not been set properly. I would point out that the place was not exactly busy so the staff were not under any pressure. If we had not been with the bride to be most of us would have left because the service was appalling and the food was terrible given it was only a couple of sandwiches each and some cakes which were easy to plate up. Oh and the coffee and tea they tried to serve us earlier must have been left and brought out later because it was luke warm. The price was £22 per head but they gave us a £5 discount each - I'd rather have gone to McDonalds, even though I don't like burgers, at least the food would have been fresh.
