“Great open air bar”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 August 2014

Been staying and going out around Seel Street for a few years but we’ve only just discovered this bar – probably because from the outside it looks like Colditz! It’s an open air bar so perfect in the summer. In fact one evening when we were there it went to one in and one out at around 7pm so it gets busy quickly. There is food too cooked on the grill outside so quite a limited selection. I haven’t eaten there but they were doing a decent trade. Now that Salt Dog Slims doesn’t do bottles of Pacifico you can get your Pacifico fix here!

“Unique and lovely”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 August 2014

Great place and like a little oasis in the city...they have a large charcoal grill doing delicious whole fish, steaks and other things. I had the delicious spicy halloumi wrap and my other half had the barbacoa braised pork with onions and peppers...the homemade fries are amazing! The overall ambience is wonderful and unlike anywhere Ive been in the UK...its almost like being abroad with all the plants and unusual wood structures...a must if you're visiting liverpool or just want some great food and drink on a lovely day

“Amazing but only at certain times”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 July 2014 via mobile

This bar is fantastic. Great booze and great bar staff. Atmosphere on a sunny Sunday afternoon or midweek is fab, wouldn't touch this place with a barge poll of a Saturday though. It gets heaving and with the bar being so tiny (even though the staff are super efficient) it just becomes a chore to try and get a drink. Unisex toilets are awful as well but they don't have space or facilities for anything else.

“It's amazing... once you actually get in there!”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 July 2014

Normally for a place like this, I'd give it 5 'stars' but there’s a few factors that really let it down which is a shame as it’s a nice place.

It probably fits a maximum of 50 to 90 people without being crowded; the door staff have put a cap on how many people allowed in. But, once you actually GET inside the bar, you’ll love it!

Positives;
- The bar has interesting drinks to try.
- The staff are pleasant.
- The garden area is very, very pretty and makes you feel like you’re on holiday in some ways.
- The Music is relaxing; once the DJ comes on they ensure the music is relaxing and not overly loud. You can actually have a conversation!
- The food is really nice.
Negatives;
- You actually have to wait at the door for someone to leave, in order to get in!
- They don’t serve any alcohol free beer or cocktails. Gutted as I’m pregnant 
- The drinks are actually a little bit pricey compared to a few streets away.
- It’s not very well suited to large groups; there’s 1 large bench at the seating in the balcony area. I’d definitely implement a few more of those benches; even if it was just me and my boyfriend on them, we’re not bothered if randomers sit with us!
- Aside from the balcony, the seating is actually very random; ledges, stages and small random chairs dotted about the place are the only seating areas. The upstairs is favoured for us.

Overall, it’s really well kept, the staff are nice although some of them seems little ‘out-of-it’ haha!
We also ordered food there which was really nice!

FOR THOSE TRYING TO GET INSIDE;
Just wait a few minutes! Once group / couple leave, you’re allowed to go in. I think it took us about 5-10 minutes to get inside so don’t be too disheartened about it. Is it worth the wait? Maybe; just depends how long the staff have you waiting.

Now keep in mind, this was actually at 6pm in the evening so maybe it’s better for early drinks?

Either way, give it a go!

“Refused entry every time!”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 July 2014

I've turned up at the front door maybe 3/4 times now and every time I've been refused entry. The only time I was able to get in was during a dance performance with my dance school and that was through the back door.
Just ridiculous! Even when you have people leaving they still refuse entry. What's so special about this place? Seriously, not worth the hassle. Better places in town worth going to.
