Recently had a tour of the docks with a group of friends. This was the world's first enclosed dock. What an interesting visit. The tour was led by Dan & Yazz, who together with their incredible knowledge, enthusiasm & typical Liverpool humour made it a superb hour. This tour is totally free & organised through the Maritime Museum. Not well advertised but well worth a visit.

Today I found another Liverpool secret, the site of the worlds first inland enclosed dock. The tour was conducted by Dan and Yazz who had a wonderful knowledge of the dock and local history. the tour takes about an hour and was really worth it. If you visit Liverpool it is a must go to see. I hope in the future the Maritime museum gets funding to open up some more of the site.
Dan and Yazz are a credit to the museum.

If you travel to Liverpool or indeed are a resident and do not go on this tour, you will miss out on tonnes of extremely interesting history and fascinating facts about the city! We went on this tour today and were thoroughly entertained by Yazz and Danny (who are brilliant) and amazed by the amount of historical links we simply walk past every day. This tour is suitable for all as it isn't strenuous or too academic, but gives enough information. It would be worth paying for the tour but best of all - it's free!!!

we stumbled on this tour and enjoyed it so very much. The two guides are Liverpool's answer to Ant and Dec. The passion for this project is shown by both of them, the enthusiasm and banter make it a very enjoyable experience and if you are in Liverpool make your way to the Albert Docks and book yourself a place on this tour. Enjoy

Came across this free tour on the Maritime Museum website. Booked for 9 of us visiting from Birmingham. Dan and Yazz showed such passion for this treasure in Liverpool, we felt we were visiting their "baby". Having visited Liverpool 6 months previously, I had no idea this amazing historical site was there. The 5 children we took with us were totally enthralled with the depth of knowledge of the guides. The tour was the highlight of our visit to Liverpool. Thanks to Dan and Yazz.
