My other half and I stayed at Mays House for three nights while visiting my daughter in Liverpool. I think I had booked a studio apartment but we got a one bedroom apartment, which was nice. The apartments are a little way off the beaten track, but very close to the centre of the city and are well signposted from Park Place. We managed to get totally lost getting there in the first place, but that was due to relying on the AA routeplanner - we don't have satnav (yet).

The apartment was very spacious, light and airy. The double bedroom was very large, with French windows and a Juliet balcony - looking over the street unfortunately - but letting in loads of light and air. A little too much light - there are vertical blinds on the window and they don't shut out much light at all. Also, the bed was, in my opinion, absolutely rock hard. I prefer a soft bed and tend to find a lot of beds too hard, but this was much much too hard for me. The living room/kitchen was also large, with a kichenette area at one end, very well equipped with a proper oven and hob, a microwave, toaster, kettle and under counter fridge. The sitting area contained two sofa beds, a coffee table and a side table. Nothing else apart from a nice flat screen television on the wall. It was quite spacious. The bathroom was huge, quite big enough for a separate shower in addition to the bath (it had a shower over the bath) and for a loo with a full sized cistern. We did have a problem with the loo when we first got there, it has a very small cistern and wasn't providing enough flush to flush - if you know what I mean. We informed the staff and a very nice chap came to fiddle with it and definitely improved it, but we did take the large saucepan into the bathroom to add extra water when the extra ooomph was required. The towels were very nice though!

These are very nice apartments, in my opinion, and in a convenient area. There are a few little things that need to be done to make them even better, and a few more things could be done to make them luxury, but we very much enjoyed our stay and would definitely consider going there again.

There were also a couple of things which should have been noticed and something done before we visited. The people before us had obviously had the same problem with the loo as us - the loo brush was absolutely disgusting. We were going to Ikea anyway so we just bought a new one for only 40p. The washing up brush had definitely seen better days - again we bought one from Ikea and used that. We also bought an anti slip shower mat for the bath - there is an over bath shower but no texture in the bath itself and no shower mat provided. I once managed to slip and fall over the side of the bath while showering in a hotel in Spain - it is not something I would like to do again.

Things to make it even better - Curtains or black out blinds in the bedroom, a mattress topper or better mattress on the bed, some hooks for coats in the hallway, a loo with a better flush, hooks behind the bedroom door for dressing gowns, a table lamp in the sitting room, hanging rails for wet towels in the bathroom, a loo roll holder (there was plenty of toilet paper provided in one of those cylinder shaped loo roll containers but nothing actually to hang the roll you were using on) and a non -slip shower mat. Also - the leads from the television were just hanging down the wall, a little attention to detail in finding a way to hide these would have looked better. None of these things are necessary, the apartment is fine without them, but they would just add that little bit extra that could make a difference.

The staff were very helpful - and I believe that better blinds or curtains may be being considered already.

I booked these apartments for a Hen Do! There was 20 of us all staying here great value for money! Couldn't of asked for a better service all staff are very welcoming when we arrived and I must say through out the build up to staying at the apartments always on hand to answer any questions I had. When we arrived at the apartment we were helped up to the rooms with all with bags, food and drinks. We were also very happy also with how clean and well kept the apartments are and beds are very comfortable too! We headed into Duke Street to the Greenrooms comedy club, we called a 5 seater taxi from the apartments to take us & it only came to £3.50 very cheap! We enjoyed this stay as it wasn't to far from the city centre and you don't get the hustle and bustle of the city! EXCELLENT NIGHT! :-)

We stopped at May's house at the beginning of May when we were in the city to watch a concert. Although we were late on arrival due to car trouble, we were left very clear instructions on how to access the complex and apartment.
The room was immaculate and very spacious, with lots of information and maps of Liverpool.
We walked into the City at night which only took approx 20 minutes.
We had an excellent nights sleep (which doesnt happen often due to having 2 small children), and woke fresh for the drive home.
Would definately recommend may's house to friends and we cant wait to stop here again the next time we come to Liverpool.

We stayed at May's House on the 22nd of May for 2 nights. Ryan and the staff where excellent nothing was too much trouble, the apartment was spotlessly clean and extremely comfortable.

We also found that local taxi firm Excel was fantastic and price cheap than the bus!!!.

Cant wait to come back again to stay at May's.

Another satisfied guest.

We would just like to say thank you for the teams amazing help and fab stay at May's House on Sunday. We couldn't ask for better, lovely rooms, all information we could ever need on Liverpool and huge apartments!!Everyone is too quick to moan about anything when something isn't right but we feel it's important to mention the good things too! The apartment was perfect and really was a home from home, very spacious, needed for nothing (not even a bottle opener!) and close to transport links. The team member was so helpful and accommodating and we knew this would be somewhere we visit again! Thanks again, we strongly recommend and will be seeing you again soon!

Myself and 2 friends travelled up for a one night stay, admittedly to watch the football. When we drove up to the property we took a wrong turn and though we were in the wrong place. Eventually we found it and parked up right outside. That is where our worries ended.

Greeted on the front door by a friendly team member, we were shown to our room (the Penthouse). We did think it was a little on the large side for 3 of us as it had 10 beds, 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and a massive living room. Lo and behold it was the wrong room and we were shown to our correct room which was pretty much the same. We had 2/3 bedrooms (the couches can be beds), a double bed and two single beds in two other rooms. Fully equipped kitchen and fresh towels so we could shower.

The amenities are simple but well kept. A mini fridge, washing machine, full kitchen, TV. One downside was that in one of the bathrooms there was only a bath and no shower, but it would make a great bathroom if they added this (it's big enough to add a dresser and turn it into a luxury unit). Also the bathroom doors don't have locks, which isn't a big issue for us but if you are there with friends for a long stay then it could be an issue.

Apart from that, we had a good time. The reception called us a taxi when needed, told us where to go to watch the match in a bar, recommended a pizza delivery place at 2am when we got back and were on hand when we left to wish us a safe trip home. Being only 10 minutes from the town centre, it's a great location.

The ground floor apartments have access to a decked area at the back of the property too.

Definitely going to stay here again, but please please put some locks on the bathrooms :).

Room Tip: if you have enough people ask for the penthouse - great apartment. If you are a smoker ask for the g...
