“Really nice hotel!”
Reviewed 22 March 2014

We stayed here for one night, and would have loved to stay for longer! Although it's not central, there are plenty of busses that run every 10 minutes that take you in the center in under 20 minutes.
The room was very clean, and looked very nice! The bathroom was quite small, but it had a nice modern shower and was very clean too.
The owner was also very nice and polite.

Visited today for all day breakfast. Very tasteful surroundings with pleasant helpful staff the eating area is bright and airy however disappointed with food the breakfast was nice and good value for the price. But I don't think it was freshly cooked which spoilt it for me

Had the pleasure of staying at this hotel. It's been open for approx 4 months (as at March 2014).
I have pretty severe mobility issues and was their first disabled guest.

I use a wheelchair called a mountain trike. I have stayed in other hotels in accessible rooms before and couldn't get my trike in the room. It is a very large chair. I easily managed to get my wheelchair in the lift and through all of the doors. The disabled room and bathroom had ample space to move around in.

The quality of the finishings in this hotel shows that no expense was spared. It a small friendly hotel with a big hotel feel.

The staff were genuinely interested in what I thought of the room. I made two small observation. These were met with a temporary solution immediately and were permanently fixed upon my return the next day.

I have problems in visiting attractions and restaurants. The guys in the hotel moved mountains to ensure our trip was the great success it was.

We have plans to revisit the area in late summer and am in know doubt of where we will stay. It's got to be Penny Lane!!

We stayed at the Penny Lane hotel by chance following a hard day’s night at Liverpool John Lennon airport. Our flight was cancelled due to high winds and we were abandoned by easyJet and left looking for somewhere to stay. All the hotels adjacent to the airport were full, but we eventually stumbled on the Penny Lane, a ten minute taxi ride away. Although we arrived around midnight, we were made very welcome, and our room was warm, comfortable and well furnished, with a large flat-screen tv, a selection of Beatles photographs and a large Sergeant Pepper cushion. The bathroom was high spec and spotless, with good quality toiletries.

We had to be back at the airport early the following morning, but the staff made sure we had a full breakfast before we set off, as well as providing friendly conversation. Although this was only a flying visit, we were very impressed and would happily recommend the Penny Lane to less stressed travellers.

Well it is a modern/boutique type hotel 15 minutes away from the City Centre with no car park---None of this is important as the rooms/hotel are very pleasant/comfortable, it is easy to get into the town centre and there are many places to park on the streets nearby in what is a very safe and charming area. Most important of all, the staff/owners of the hotel make this a truly memorable stay-the service is outstanding and you feel like you have known the owners for years after the first few minutes. Nice to see that you can get excellent and genuine service somewhere in England!!! Would definitely go again

Room Tip: Back of the hotel for quieter rooms

Great hotel, especially for Beatles fans - fantastic Beatles décor and right next to 'the shelter in the middle of the round-a-bout'. Very modern, comfortable, the staff are very friendly and the included breakfast a good Full English. Plenty of buses into the city that take only around 15-20 mins. No Wi-Fi in rooms but it's free in reception.

If you're a Beatles fan do not stay anywhere else, if not you'll still be pleased you stayed anyway.

Stayed at the Penny Lane Hotel last weekend. One word sums it up - AMAZING!! Gary, Liam, Jack and the staff are the friendliest we have ever encountered and could not do enough for you. Good location, close to restaurants, pubs etc. Hotel rooms are beautiful. Spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Have passed on details of the hotel to my local travel agents so they can recommend to others. Have already booked to return later in the year. Keep up the good work lads! Looking forward to seeing you all again soon - from the Cumbria branch of the Hull Crowd!!
