We recently had our first weekend in Liverpool and stayed at the Sir Thomas. The building was once The Bank of Liverpool. The restaurant staff and the girls on reception could not be more helpful. The rooms are basic but large and clean and the location was perfect. You literally step out of the front door, cross the road and you are in the shopping centre. Continental breakfast was included and a full English is £4 - yes £4 - what a bargain and it was delicious! All in all this hotel was perfect for our break and we will definitely return.

Eat in the Restaurant a few Saturday nights ago. Shared a great Chateaubriand with the misses, cooked just the way i like it. Nice and busy place and a good few people in the bar as well. Great little spot!

This is a budget hotel but our room was clean & well furnished (the bathroom could do with an upgrade but was very clean). It is in a good central location for visiting the city.

We had a full breakfast which was excellent - hot & well cooked.

Ask about parking at nearby Vernon St multi-storey car park as the hotel has discounted rates. We parked overnight there for £8.50 - it should have cost £25.

The bar & restaurant downstairs are good.

Enjoyed our stay here, hotel is clean, staff are friendly and the hotel is in a great central location. Pillows were completely flat though, asked for more at reception and they were brought up to our room. My partner did find it very noise, I slept all night long though.

Stayed here for one night so could enjoy some of the night life in Liverpool. 5 minute walk to Matthew street and Liverpool One Shopping, and train station. Hotel has elevator and comfortable room. Stayed mid week for a little shopping and site seeing

Felt very uncomfortable staying here and contemplated paying for a taxi to take me home. Although I am local we decided to treat ourselves to a midweek night in town, a meal, a great show and stay overnight in town. My partner booked the hotel through a deal offered. We usually get some good deals in lovely hotels in town, but not this time, sadly. The hotel is dated. Rooms sparsely furnished, more like a hostel than a hotel. Very noisy. It is as though the windows are open it is so noisy, could benefit from double glazing and some investment generally. Dread to think what it would be like to stay here of a weekend. Our room was painted in an imposing burgundy, not pleasant! It had the oldest tv, more fitting for a museum! At the moment I cannot find anything positive to say about the place. Avoid at all costs. They still provide uht milk in cartons, what hotel still does that? The room is, however, clean although the bathroom tap drips constantly. Room 111

Room Tip: Don't stay here, rooms v noisy, will be worse of a weekend

We paid for double room with en suite bathtub - breakfast included.
mattress was super old, warped and lumpy, pillows with a stuffing I can only describe as papery (?!), bed sheet had little holes in it. TV was ancient and remote didnt work. We got a shower room instead of bathtub, even though I asked them to move us to a room with one. Shower room was old and gritty. When complained to manager, he blamed the housekeeping. I could say it was cleaned as much as it was possible to clean it but the whole room was old and nasty. As the saying goes you can't polish a turd....
Breakfast was a sad joke. We were told we can have continental only which meant mini dry and cold pastries ( just out of the fridge). Fruit was green or brown...
Oh dear... just really sad.
Complete rip off.
