“A dreary b And b.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 July 2014

I stayed for one night. I arrived quite late and was shown to my room quickly and efficiently after being asked to pay. The room was depressing. Although it was clean and quite modern, it ws not welcoming. There were two screws on the wall where the TV had been. So no TV! No lamp to read in bed. Just a pokey ceiling light.also there was no double glazing so the room was a little noisy. There was a venician blind but no curtains.
The bathroom was ok but cheaply put together. A big plus was that the bed was comfortable with a lovely duvet. So I slept well.
There was no breakfast facility.
I would noT have minded if it was cheap but for £60 for a single it is not good value. I don't think I shall use this hotel again.

We stayed in at 24 Catharine Street Hotel this weekend. Well, what a welcome! Within minutes we felt like we were part of the family! Joe was extremely accommodating even though we were three hours early!! We had a bit of lunch while waiting for our rooms. Food was outstanding. So we booked for dinner too which did not disappoint! All the staff were very friendly and helpful. Rooms whilst small, were beautifully decorated, and very clean. The bed was very comfortable. Staff were interested to know out feedback so that they could improve our stay in any way. Location wise was perfect, right by the Anglican Church, right by LIPA and ten minute walk passed beautiful buildings to get to town. We were so lucky to be there the weekend the local university put on a carnival which went right outside our door and was very impressive! We would definitely come back again and recommend this hotel, that is full of life and character, to everyone! Thanks Joe to you and your staff for giving being part of our wonderful memories of Liverpool. Donna, Mike, Gwen, Ann and David xxxx

Stayed here last night with my mum. We arrived too early to check in but staff happily took our cases and advised us on where to spend an hour before returning to collect our keys.

Room itself was nice, decorated well and comfortable. Bathroom was exceptionally clean which was pleasing.

Thought it easier to list positives and some general feedback....

POSITIVES:
* Amazingly friendly and knowledgeable staff. Happy to direct us to sightseeing places within the local area
* Location is good, within walking distance of town but nice and quiet at night time when you want to sleep
* Super clean
* Lovely breakfast the next day included in the price of our room. If this is any indication as to how the food is in the pub then we missed out not eating here during the day we stayed. Food was spot on.
* Lovely comfortable beds and crisp clean bed linen

DEVELOPMENT POINTS:
* Black out blinds....The sun coming through the venetian blinds woke me at 6:30am and I struggled then to sleep again
* More than 1 bath towel each as standard, a hand towel in the bathroom would have been helpful
* No TV in the room as it had broken that day. Initially we didn't think this would be a problem, but it would have been a nice gesture to have offered us some form of compensation for this, even just a free drink in the bar

Overall a very good stay and am keen to return here later in the year

My boyfriend and I stayed at 24 Catherine Street. The hotel consists of rooms above a charming Edwardian pub , which has recently been lavishly and sympathetically restored. The room was small ,yet nice and bright and very clean , with everything we needed. It was modern and tastefully decorated. The double bed was very comfortable, very high quality bedding , it was like sleeping on clouds :). For the price,(£45, midweek) it is a good alternative to a Premier inn , with more bags more character. The staff were really lovely and couldn't be more helpful.
The location is a ten minute walk to the city centre and spitting distance to the theatres, and some of the best pubs in Liverpool.
Would definatly stay there again , and would recommend to family and friends.

Stayed at this hotel and had great time there the customer service from everyone here is above excellent! Provided us with everything that we needed! The breakfast that was served was to the highest standard as well, with great entertainment from the host.

Just a little walk from the town centre, pubs and clubs, and not far from the coach and train stations. Only negative was that only one of the 3tvs in the 3rooms that I booked worked and the TVs could have been a bit bigger! But I didn't decide to complain about that as everything else was on point! Great stay

We stayed here for a weekend away. Close to the city, yet quiet. Lovely room - yes, quite small, but there was enough room for us both and it had everything we expected. Relaxing space, and a very comfortable bed too. Great service at check-in, and in the morning with a really good breakfast. Only downside is it doesn't have parking, but we parked in town which was only 10 minutes walk. Will be recommending to friends. 24 Catharine St deserves to do well!

Nice little BB in Liverpool with very friendly service, always willing to go the extra mile to service you better.

Small rooms but very nice and clean, not in the center but a nice walking distance with a pub where local people come to have a meal or a drink.
