We stayed here as we had an early departure the following morning to the Isle of Man. I've stayed at lots of HIExpress and this was no different, comfortable, clean and adequate. The breakfast is included in the room rate and as expected included the hot selection of scrambled egg, sausages, and beans, nothing special, but gets you going in the morning. We slept well....which is all you can ask.

We ( 2 adults. 12 and 6 year old ) stayed here as we found it on a special offer which included a weeks parking. The location is good as it's a 10 minute walk to the retail park. The room it's self was very small. The beds in particular seemed very small. The kids had a sofa bed which was uncomfortable and was higher at one end. We didn't have a good nights sleep as the room was so hot we had to open the window. Then at 3am there was a truck beeping it's horn. This was followed my children running up and down the corridor and doors slamming ( not the hotels fault ) the walls seemed very thin. We came down for breakfast at 5:30am which was a cold selection cereals, toast etc, the food was very nice. The staff were helpful and friendly. I don't really understand why the hotel has to reserve £30 on your card as no other hotel I've stayed in does this! X

Dear Daiseybop,

Thank you for your recent stay, and for taking the time to share your experience. We are very pleased to read that you enjoyed our breakfast selections, and you found our location convenient. Conversely, it is troubling to read that the room condition and noise disturbance prevented you from fully enjoying your visit. We are very sorry for any inconvenience these aspects have caused.

Your comments are very important to us as they allow us to monitor and improve our products and services continually. We will follow up your concerns to the hotel management and we are confident they will take necessary actions to improve our guest satisfaction. We hope that if your travels brings you back to our area, you would give us another opportunity to provide the excellent accommodations you were expecting.

Kind Regards,

Tracy V.

We arrived late, but were able to choose from the Bar Menu which runs until 10pm. A bonus for us was the free parking and free breakfast. The breakfast was self service, which was nice if you wanted more juice or toast etc.

The staff were very helpful, pleasant and cheerful.

We thought we would be disturbed by the sound of planes landing and taking off at the nearby airport, but we never heard anything!

Room Tip: We had a room on the second floor, at the end of the corridor. Our room overlooked the carpark, so...

We stayed at this hotel during the weekend of the Giants in Liverpool at the end of July.

Room: On the 5th floor, nice clean and modern

Breakfast: Was basic but though there could've been more fruit (not just apples), yogurt plain or flavoured for vegetarians

Location: A bus ride away from Liverpool city centre, took approximately 30 minutes which was good as we didn't want to pay city centre prices

Overall we found this to be a nice hotel, our only complaint is the weekend we stayed there, it was "overly" hot on the 5th floor!
We had the window open to allow air in. It felt very very warm. There is no air conditioning installed and it was just stifling and made it very difficult to sleep!!!

Dear sunshine7301,

Thank you for taking the time to write a review about your recent stay at the hotel. I am delighted
you enjoyed your stay with us. I have joined the hotel as manager just under 4 weeks ago, during the exceptionally hot weather spell, I have now purchased some fans for our guests that request them during these warm periods.I will also ensure we always have vegetarian sausages to ensure we cater for all dietary requirements.

I look forward to welcoming you back to the hotel in the near future.

Your sincerely

This is a convenient location for an overnight stop before going to the airport but a smokers area in front of the entrance is not great. Staff were pleasant and helpful. The room and bathroom were as expected, functional and clean. The available anywhere wifi doesn't live up to its billing as I lost the network in the room if I didn't sit at the foot of the bed near to the clothes hanging rail (a curious 'open plan' wardrobe!). I didn't expect total peace with an airport hotel but traffic on the nearby dual carriageway was much more of a problem and more constant than any plane noise (even with the window shut). You need a room well a way from the road. You seemed to be sat in an extension of the reception for breakfast but the choices were ok and breakfast was good. Parking was not a problem and having barrier operated parking gave some sense of security. Overall I would say the hotel stay served its purpose for us but I wouldn't stay there again.

Room Tip: Get a low number room on a high floor for the best chance of some quiet.

Have stayed at other Holiday Inn Expresses and had a very pleasant stay however the same cannot be said of this hotel unfortunately. We stayed (2 adults, 2 children age 10 and 6) the night before our flight from Liverpool, very modern hotel, staff not overly friendly upon arrival and didnt explain why they took £30 on credit card (had to ask). The room was modern and clean however very small for a family of four. Not too much of a problem as we were getting up at 3am for early flight but once children had gone to bed on a very uncomfortable sofa bed that every time they moved they rolled into the middle (and each other) and you could hear the springs! Also the tv was at far end of room nearest sofa bed so could not be watched once kids in bed. Also it wasnt particularly a hot day but was boiling in the room, no air con and windows open by bout 3 inches!! Also had road and aircraft noise consequently kept us all awake and all had very little sleep at all, just what you dont need as start to holiday. Very odd swing door (great concept) that is the bathroom door and the separate toilet door, when using as toilet door there is a good inch gap so not very private. Good price for leaving car for the week as well as nights stay, shame the nights stay was'nt great! It almost seems like if you are using the stay and park you have a room thats crammed in as you are not there long, I would like to think that not all rooms were this small (no real room for all luggage either). Walls quite thin also, could hear neighbours very easily. On plus side, only 3 minute taxi ride to airport, wish could be more complimentary than this

Stayed here 1 night before our flight from Liverpool. Good price for room and parking, great location with a few pubs and restaurants near by. Room was clean, and the reception staff are very helpful and friendly. Would definitely use again.
