We were a group of 4 who went to the Gulshan for a meal. We had been previously about 2 years ago and everything was fine but this time was very different. When we arrived it took 25 minutes to get our first drinks. There was no service with a smile and we were made to feel that we were an inconvenience to them. The cocktails at £6 seemed reasonable enough but when theirs arrived it was basically a glass with ice in with a drop of alcohol so not impressed. We ordered the poppadoms and at the end when the bill arrived you have to pay separately for the chutney. I have never known this and again it's underhand tactics to get more money from their customers. After an hour of waiting our starters finally arrived. Very bland and my lamb tikka starter arrived on a slate with a drop of sauce nowhere near enough needed. I had to ask for more and shock it turns out that was also extra!! After another hour the mains arrived. Again the food was average and at the price they charge not acceptable. After the plates were eventually cleared the manager asked us if we wanted desert. We said no thanks just the bill. He asked why we didn't want anything else and when he was told that it would be Christmas before we got it he said fair enough and walked off. That was perfect opportunity to apologise for terrible service. After 10 minutes waiting on the bill I went to chase it up and they were around the corner adding up the cost from the menu. Hardly up to date practices. When the bill arrived it was a hand written scrawl and not legible so impossible to tell if it was correct. After 2 and 1/2 hours of awful service we just paid the £150 and left as we just wanted to get home. On waiting outside we had a look at their takeaway menu and my main course was cheaper by £8. Great to advertise that after we had just been ripped off in the restaurant for terrible service. At One point we was going to order a takeaway and get it collected and taken to out table it was so slow!! Will never go back and if you value your money and time do not waste it on a place that doesn't value their custom. As a last point the restaurant wasn't busy at probably 50% occupancy so heaven knows how they would cope in a busy period. But I can certainly understand why they struggle for business
