I had booked afternoon tea here to get the atmosphere of the Beatles as we were only in Liverpool for one night. The hotel, which is in the central of Liverpool, is a great place to go to soak up Beatle mania! We had a five minute wait for our table, which was fine as they apologised for this. We ordered afternoon tea for three people, which consisted of a few sandwiches, three scones, and a few cakes. The salmon sandwiches were very nice, however the rest were just average. The scones were warm and tasty, although we didn't think too much of the cakes provided. However with very friendly staff (even the doorman!) and the price under £30 for three of us, it was very good and we also experienced the atmosphere of Liverpool.

We loved the Beatle history here! When we arrived there was a broken down bus double parked at the entrance so it was difficult to park our car. No problem. The young lady on reception organised for the concierge to take our car to the overnight park, and then she upgraded our booking to apologise for our trouble arriving! Everything about the hotel oozes The Beatles. The circular staircase had life size photos of the Beatles on the walls as you climb. The lift was glass and encased in the circular staircase so you also saw the photos if you took the lift. Quirky things like the Do Not Disturb signs said instead Let It Be! Plenty of examples like that and plenty of Beatles history. The Cavern was just around the corner, shopping just down the street in a very new shopping complex, which also included many restaurants. Finally, the staff were fantastic. Customer service was first rate.

Room Tip: Rooms were a bit noisy because of the night life in the area. Just soak up the atmosphere!

Best location imagineable at the top of Mathew Street. This glorious hotel is classy yet comfortable in the extreme and terrific for true Beatles fans although a gorgeous boutique hotel even if you are not. Breakfast is not cheap, but it is lovely and in wonderful room filled with pictures of those who appeared on the Sgt Pepper album. Rooms not huge but we didn't care as just being there compensated and the rooms are lovely with great little extras such as toiletries. Staff are so helpful and this is 5 mins from Lime Street station and right in the heart of the City. Great treat. We can't wait to return.

Room Tip: If you struggle with noise ask for a quieter room as some are right over the Cavern Club exit and the revellers can be heard.

Overall, this hotel is perfect for many reasons: it's a great central hotel with easy walking distance to the main shopping areas, the rooms are spacious and comfortable and equipped with pretty much everything you need, the staff are very polite and helpful, and the breakfasts were great. For a Beatles fan like me, it is located right around the corner from the Cavern club & pub, and also, the Beatles theme runs throughout the hotel, from decor to music, which actually never gets tiring.

As this was a Beatles trip in celebration of my birthday & our anniversary, we stayed in a deluxe room for 2 nights. If you can afford it, I'd say the room was well worth the upgrade. We tried to upgrade the room to one with a balcony, but unfortunately, those rooms were being refurbished, so couldn't. To substitute that, my husband ordered a bottle of champagne that was waiting for us on arrival.

I believe that you have to pay for breakfasts on top of the room costs, which I'm sure can probably be bought for cheaper at a cafe/ coffee shop outside, but that's a personal choice. Personally, I thought the food was great, and again, in a large dining room filled with Beatles memorabilia, it was a great start to the Beatles themed trip we were taking. I'd recommend that you check the hotel website though, as I think the hotel has offers where breakfast is included.

So in summary: the room was great, the food was good, the service and staff was excellent, the location is brilliant, and the hotel can help organise Beatles themed trips too.

The only negative thing I have to say is that we had a room at the front of the hotel, which was quite noisey from the street early in the morning, but I'm a light sleeper, and when I had my earplugs in, it was totally fine. So maybe if you're a light sleeper, you should request a room away from the front.

I would definitely stay here again and you should definitely consider it.

Room Tip: If you're a light sleeper, consider asking for a room away from the main street.

We stayed here a few nights ago and were really impressed. We wish we could have stayed longer. The beds were so comfortable. The front desk service was impeccable. We can't wait to return.
The restaurant, however, was understaffed. Hopefully it was just a fluke.
