South Kensington is a great neighborhood, and this apartment puts you right in the middle of things! A few blocks south of major museums, and a few doors away from the subway station, everything is accessible.
Out the front door, slightly offset, is an open plaza surrounded by restaurants and shops. The subway station is surrounded by convenience stores, coffee shops and every type of breakfast or pastry shop - just what you need when you don't want to stock the kitchen. And the pubs - isn't that why we go to London? Two very fine examples stand a very short walk away.
This apartment is old and a little worn, but it looks exactly as in the photos. The ceilings are high, the drapery luxurious, and the furniture comfortable. I'd definitely stay here again.
We've greatly enjoyed our stay at Thurloe #14. With an underground station, restaurants and convenience stores all within a 5-minute walk, its location can't be beat. We took the underground train everywhere and sampled different ethnic food at the nearby restaurants. Taking full advantage of its close proximity to museums and Kensington Garden, we went to a concert at the Royal Albert Hall, saw Kensington Palace and visited the Natural History Museum. In addition to having lots of space and a reliable WiFi connection, the apartment comes with a king-size bed and one and a half baths. What a luxury!!!
