I had booked this house because it had the perfect room split for a family visit of five adults. The house is split over three levels with the top floor being the common area with kitchen (everything you need to cook or order in), TV (and loads of electronic gadgets) table and seating area. The split levels meant that everyone had their own space which is great when you are traveling with family! The house is modern with state of the art appliances and hot water on demand. The bedrooms are clean and uncluttered. There is a guide to the house and surrounding area provided and it is informative about the local attractions. It also gives you the etiquette of the house which is really helpful (we read about which day the binds were collected after the fact...sorry M!) The location is central and gives you a flavor of bustling London and is well connected by public transportation, we were able to zip around in no time and all within easy reach of our base. The little side street is private and the bar at the end of it gives a warm bustling noise that can be easily blocked out by closing one of the large windows. The owner could not have been more helpful with clear and joined up communication before our visit. We were able to stay a little time after the ten am check-out time because our flights home were quite late and this was not an issue at all which I found exceeded the norm and saved us carrying our luggage around for hours. I would happily recommend this house to anyone thinking of visiting London and I will most definitely book a return as this house has everything I needed, believe the positive reviews it really ticks all the boxes!
We found this rental to be clean, comfortable and as advertised. We particularly enjoyed the top floor living/cooking area with its natural light. There are quite a few stairs, but this was not a problem for us. We would recommend this rental based on its location close to the Underground and comfortable accommodations.
It is as described: well-furnished, equipped and located within easy access to public transportation, supermarkets for basics, and cafes, including one with reputedly UK best mince pies.
The 2nd floor was suitable for the adult children; the 1st floor master bedroom was really spacious, and the living/dining room with kitchen, with skylight on 3rd floor was a welcome gathering area for the family. Going up and down between floors was manageable as there were sturdy metal balustrades and slip proof floors. We particularly like that safety aspects were paramount in the design, as the stairs even had emergency exit lights. The kitchen amenities were most satisfying; we did not have to wait to long for the kettle to boil or to make toast, and the oven and microwave were ready for use. The toilet areas were heated. The dryer and the washing machine came with many different programs; we should not have brought too many clothes with us. The accommodation was clean and bright when we first arrived.sorry we could only empty the bins as we left at 6.30 am first thing in the morning.
The Hat and Tun pub had roaring business leading to the Xmas weekend, so that added to the festive mood in the neighborhood but from 23rd onwards, and even after Boxing Day, the area quitened as with the city. The area near Farringdon has quite a bit of history though we did not have much time to uncover. Apparently this rental is a rare find, in Clerkenwell, based on input we received from an expat who works in M&A and lives in the area for few years. The family loved the loft-style experience with common areas/space, private space and amenities.
We walked, from the accommodation, albeit on different days, to London Eye, henceforth to Westminster and St James Park and Buckingham Palace, British Museum, Borough Market to gather the sights;took cabs back ( for 5 to 6 adults, paid slightly more than on buses but with extra convenience and comfort) from Euston, Borough, Regent St, etc), buses to/from Shoreditch, Oxford St, Tottenham, etc, underground to Holborn from Hyde Park, etc.
Melissa has been a tremendous help on travel advice to Manchester on Xmas Day, given the limited travel options that day, as we had a Boxing Day match to catch at Old Trafford, and back to London after that.
One small thing - there could have been a proper door stopper for the utility room, and we did not know what to do with the many linen left to dry in the utility room which greeted us when we arrived.
A perfect place to stay with family. Great location, not that you'd know you were in the middle of London - situated down a mews, the apartment could have been a world away from the metropolis.Great facilities, lovely host and everything on your doorstep. Only drawback were the stairs - there are lots of them.
This was the perfect place for our 3-generation group of 6 for a 3-week stay in London. Plenty of space for everyone, laundry on the premises, and even a big utility room for storing suitcases. It was no problem
for us, but the many steps will pose problems if guests have limited mobility. Melissa was fantastic before and during our stay. We're ahoping to come back next year.
My family of 5 had a fantastic holiday in London with this great house as our base. Very close to bus stops and tube stations for our many visits into London; Buckingham Palace, Tower of London, East End food tour, O2 and theatre visits. Accommodation was clean and modern with very comfy beds and kitchen with all mod cons. Top floor living area was great to relax in after a day sightseeing. If staying in London again this would definitely be our first choice.
We thoroughly enjoyed our 5-night stay here. Ticked all the boxes: clean, comfortable, quiet (surprisingly so for central London), all required mod cons plus close to many of the major visitor attractions, e.g. St Paul's, British Museum, Covent Garden, etc. as well as shops, cafes and restaurants. Also close proximity to bus and tube routes so a piece of cake getting round London. Melissa, the owner, was helpful throughout in her comms. Recommend.
