We stayed at the LVH for a week in July. We found the staff to be accommodating and friendly. The price is reasonable. There is no elevator, so all luggage must be carried up the stairs. When we got to our room we were surprised how small it was. We know European hotel rooms are not large, but this was the smallest two person room we've seen. Also, there was no real closet or any dresser in the room, just a small rod attached to a wall with 6 hangers, so we lived out of our two suitcases for the week. (One of which needed to stay on the floor, taking up more space in the tiny room.) the room was rather warm when we got there; we opened the window and requested a fan (which helped a lot). This bed was comfortable; getting in and out was not, as it was too close to the walls on both sides (we needed to slide to the foot of the bed to get out). The bathroom was modern and functioned well; as with the room in general, it was tiny. The hotel's breakfast consisted of the same menu daily - hard boiled eggs, bread, cheese, meat, dry cereal and milk, coffee, juice, pre-made pancakes or waffles which one could toast.

The staff was very welcoming. We stayed in a building 20metres from the main building.
The room was brand new and very clean although quite small.
The hotel is in Kensington in a quiet residential area, 15min walk from Holland Park (underground station). There are buses, shops and restaurants 2 min walk from the hotel.

I stayed at this hotel for one whole week with my family in July 2014. Stepping into the hotel was like stepping into a different century, but in an entirely good way. From the small lobby you can step into the comfortable looking sitting room (complete with fireplace and chess set), or to the dining room. The dining room is a bit on the small side compared to the number of guests, which may mean a short wait if you are taking your breakfast between 8.30 and 9.30. The breakfast served is a simple continental breakfast, which while not of spectacular quality, it was definitely good enough to get started on.

The family room we stayed in had an antique, warm atmosphere due to the stucco ceilings and wooden paneling. The space at the front of the room consisted of a double built-in cupboard, a large mirror with a wall table as well as two comfy chairs with a small table between them. The two double beds were at the back of the room as well as the bathroom. The high ceiling made the room seem more spacious than it was and there was a large window facing away from the street. The standard of cleaning was high for both the room itself and especially for the bathroom (which was definitely cleaned daily). The only negative thing is that the WiFi coverage is spotty at times (at least for that particular room).

The staff were both friendly and helpful, and helped make our stay as enjoyable as they could.

Although the location of the hotel is not central per se, it is a very short walk from Kensington High Street (where you can take busses into Kensington and Central London) and Kensington Olympia where you can step onto Overground and Rail services or the District Line (Mind the gap!). From the bus stop further up Holland Road you can take a bus to Shepherds Bush underground station, from which you can get into central London in 10 minutes. Nearby Holland Park is a good place to spend a quiet day for children and adults alike.

The location was pretty good. The room was clean and the toilets were all good. The staff was relatively nice and breakfast was very good. It's also a beautiful building to look at itself. The only problem was they didn't have phones in each room, so when I desperately needed to make an urgent call I needed to use the one on the front desk, but they almost made me pay for a phone call. Overall, it was a nice stay.

It's a nice place and more a large B&B than a hotel.

The things I liked most are:

a) Very pleasant staff and owners. Laid back, friendly and helpful. Good housekeeping.
b) The old fashioned (: Victorian I guess?? :) living room with the interesting wall paper, big leather armchairs, wooden chess set, proper fire place, grandfather clock, chandelier, big mirror over fireplace etc.
c) Location in Kensington & Chelsea very close to celebrity homes. Near Holland Park. Lots of transport options, restaurants / bars, shops, churches etc. all within 5-20 minutes walk. Very near Kensington Olympia / Olympia Underground. Shepherd's Bush and Kensington High Street are about 20-30 minutes walk away. 24-hour Tesco & Sainsbury within a 15-minute walk.
d) Coffee at any time between 1000 and 2230 HRS. Served to you.

The rooms can range from spacious to small depending on price. I was happy that my room had a skylight and a wash basin + it was clean and kept clean by daily housekeeping. Common shower & toilet areas are fine - each one a little bit different. I'd like to see better shower pressure and flow.

Breakfast is also more than adequate (: donuts, eggs, toast, coffee, tea, croissant, cold meats, cheese etc. :). I was happy with it.

This is an old building so if you'd like to avoid stairs or have much luggage you're best off booking a ground or first floor room at a higher price because they're bigger.

All in all I was very happy to stay here. Highly recommended.
