Lovely food, attentive friendly service, nice setting. A good option to go for in this touristy area.

“Everything came at the right time!”
Reviewed 31 May 2014

Rather put off by the negative reviews, we still decided to risk a return to Benugo for a pre-concert supper.

Well... everything came at the right time; it came pretty quickly;, the food was lovely, the portions very generous, and the wines very good and reasonably priced. The service was really very good - my spilled water was mopped up fast; my odd food requests entertained without an eyebrow being raised...

All in all, a good pre-concert supper. What a shame that other people have experienced some off-nights.

“Nice dining near the London Eye”
Reviewed 28 May 2014

Nice relaxing dinner after enjoying the London Eye. We went with a large group & the service was still good - nice evening. Steak was good.

“Tries hard but misses heavily on value for money”
Reviewed 28 May 2014

Benugo is in a great spot on the southbank if you are going to the National Theatre or Southbank centre. There is a range of chain restaurants and not much quality to be had. We had a meal at Benugo and it was very average; the mussels were the only stand out exception for the rest it was distinctly average and extremely expensive. Staff were good and location is great, shame about the quality and price of food and drink

“Nice atmosphere but completely overpriced”
Reviewed 25 May 2014

We dropped in here - not for the first time - for a quick bite before the National Theatre. I chose the roasted salmon. When it emerged it was the smallest piece of salmon I had ever been served in a restaurant. It came with an equally miniscule amount of cabbage. The whole dish was about the size of an average starter. With mandatory service this cost £16.

My partner's steak, at about £19.50 all-in, was slightly bigger and turned up with three cold new potatoes.

If you're not very hungry and have more money than sense, then this place is great. Otherwise eat somewhere else.
