Description: Drinks at DUKES Bar is something of an occasion. The legendary bar is internationally renowned for its famous martinis and personalised cocktails. Frequented by James Bond author Ian Fleming, the bar is said to be the inspiration for the classic line, 'shaken, not stirred'. So whether you're relaxing after a meeting or getting together with friends for special drinks, the intimate and timeless surroundings, coupled with the bartender's knowledge, make it an unforgettable experience.

This secluded little spot is a well kept secret and worth seeking out. Quintessentially british drinking spot is home of the best martini in London. Let Alessandro prepare you one and enjoy! Intimate yet not stuffy vibe.

The best Vodka Martini I have ever had. Such a cool hotel, classic service, oozing style. A must do.

Planned on meeting old friend here for a quick drink before dinner. Place is very small and was crowded, probably because of the legacy (why I was there.) Waited a while for a table, but had folks ahead so left disappointed. Make a booking if you go and have a Vesper on me...

So, you have a picture of Sean Connery at the entry. You claim to be the stylish alpha-male high-end hangout.

The bar is in an admittedly great little hotel, though the decoration is rather dull and un-atmospheric. Impeccable service, I have to admit. Needless to say that the quality of the drinks are absolutely at par with all the best bars in the world (though maybe not as flaboyant or creative as others).

One thing I found a rather unsuccessfull feature of their offering. The mandatory limit of 2 Martinis per person. For a German - a laugh. Does the political correct and pliable management fears that their cliente is shouting in the streets, barking, and ransacking the shops in close-by Jermyn Street? What do they think we, the amateurs of exquisite alcoholic beverages, are ? English pub-hooligans ? That simple feature brings down all the image of "007-level experience" the bar tries to have. What would Sir Ian Fleming say to this ?

Therefore the verdict: too expensive for the low-level achievement of their own aspirations. Too bad, but there are other great bars in london.
