The food was terrific, the atmosphere was charming, and the prices were reasonable. The only reason I am not giving a fifth star is that the staff was not helpful or particularly friendly, and the tables were filthy.

One of the must do pubs - great to see, lovely outside space but when busy busy and the bar next door all gets too crowded.
Service can be not bad to just really not there, either understaffed or uninspired.
Expect, as an old building so no fancy air con..

This bar has a really good outdoor seating area with heaters. It tends to be more crowded on weeknights when people go there for a drink after work but is fun to go to on the weekends as well.

very good meal, well-served in a busy location. Top marks for atmosphere and reasonably good choice of food.

We had the roast beef- beautifully cooked to my liking that is a bit pinky inside but not raw. A goodish portion of veg which thankfully was not overcooked.. Not too many potatoes but good rich gravy.
A decent meal pleasantly served.
