Description: This charming branch of FishWorks in Marylebone is a bright, informal restaurant serving up immaculately prepared, simple fish dishes. The cheery blue and white interior makes for a relaxed eating environment, with customers bustling around the traditional fish counter and specials handwritten on the chalkboards. Seafood specials include fish pie and shellfish platters, with a fish-friendly wine list and a children's menu available.

We really liked the fish here and our only disappointment was that we had to ask to see the more reasonably priced (£15.99) two course menu after being seated and given other menus. Be sure to check for the two course option, though, as prices on the regular menu can get quite steep. Turns out that the two of us were very happy with our selections from the fixed price limited menu. Sea bream on thinly sliced cucumber salad, very fresh mussels in a white wine and herbs broth, radicchio salad with gorgonzola and candied walnuts, and a pasta dish with grilled artichokes and slow roasted tomatoes. Informal setting and a great location in Marylebone. House white wine, a Sauvignon Blanc was a good choice and value, too.

Excellent location for a spot of lunch if you are in the West End. Good selection of Fish - what else would you expect :0) I had moules and Frits, whilst my better half enjoyed Tuna cooked medium rare. We shared a starter of squid and a carafe of house wine.

Food: We ordered the crab toast to share, the dover sole, fish and chips, seafood soup, side of mash and a trio of sorbets. Everyone liked their dishes. The dover sole was the best of the three.

Drinks: We ordered three bellinis.

Price: For three people we paid 122.21 GBP.

Ambiance: The restaurant is comfortable and neighbourhood friendly.

Service: The service was good.

Shop: If you're looking to buy good seafood they have a shop in the front. It's expensive, but the seafood is fresh and the guys are very knowledgable and helpful.

Would I go back? Yes, but not too often because it is pricey.

How disappointing was this? We had a strong recommendation from a friend to try this place (well, he cannot be right all the time). Competition in London for good restaurants is very keen; this is well behind the curve. The location may draw in the tourists and the prices may draw in the well-heeled (£15 for cod & chips) but there is little else that stands out.

The children's menu? Needs Mumsnet or something similar to advise this restaurant chain on what to put before small people.

The strongest recommendation goes to the waitressing staff, informed, attentive, and very bright. It does help to have good staff to carry things through (but very disappointing to see the service charge automatically added to the bill, rather than making it entirely free to the customer to add what they think is appropriate). PLEASE CHANGE THIS NOW!

In short, if you want expensive food, with over-priced wine, served in a corridor, this is the place for you!
