We pop over here every now and then whenever we can't be bothered to cook as Nandos is pretty cheap and cheerful, and need something resembling a summer grilled chicken. Always packed on the weekends with huge families with annoying kids and crying babies and teenagers and students out for a cheap eat. We have always found the staff to be friendly and welcoming (if not busy at the weekends), and they will ask if we enjoyed your meal etc.
Firstly, this is not peri peri. If you want real peri peri, go to Guia in Portugal. The only thing in common with Nandos peri peri and the real deal, is they both use chicken. Otherwise, they are completely different dishes. Rather, this is a spicy grilled chicken, which has been flattened, pre-cooked and marinated, then heated over the grill before serving. That's why the food is made up so quickly here.
There are loads of sides and the portions of fries are enormous. You get a lot for your money especially with the larger platters and bottomless drinks.
It's a good cheap budget eat with consistent quality and results, we know what we are going to get. For that I like Nandos. It's kind of like a BBQ chicken restaurant version of McDonalds.
