Pizza express used to be a cheap nigfht out when you couldnt be bothered to cook. But not now....

We had salads, and bottled water, and pro-rata its not a cheap outing... The food was good, and service good, but the acoustics were a nightmare and you couldnt hear yourself talk, too noisy and bustling, so made it hard to communicate with friends... So not all bad, but wouldnt rush back. But still ok for a quick bite.

The staff was very nice and the food is good. The Leggera pizza was good but I did't mind having a full size pizza with the rocket on top.

I go here every couple of months, if not more. It's a lovely building and it's good to sit outside in the summer. There's also a conservatory to sit in. The only downside to the building is that it can get a bit loud and echoes, particularly when there's kids around. I'd advise trying midweek or earlier/later.

The food is always brilliant here. The staff are good and the manager's always around and is fantastic. As it's usually quiet, staff are quite often overheard talking and on more than one occasion, I've heard arguments between staff (always involving the same waitress, interestingly!) which has been a bit offputting. They do work hard though and there's quite a few regular customers who are there every week.

They also do takeaway, which I wouldn't really recommend. No delivery so pizzas were cold by the time we got them home.

With Pizza Express, you know what you're getting. The food here is decent and I've only ever found the staff to be courteous and attentive. If the first visit is anything to go by it's also not bad for spotting the odd celebrity, with Sacha Baron Cohen and Isla Fisher discreetly tucked away at a corner table!

Pizza Express is a bit like McDonalds...whichever branch you go to, you know the food will be consistent.
Whereas many Pizza Express are good, this one is truly awful. Don't be deceived by the pretty (ex-pub) exterior.
We've now eaten there 1 time too many... have eaten there 6 times, and every time it's bad...we swear not to go back, and then get seduced by some 50% deal.
Service has never risen above disinterested, and on the last visit it took them 1 hour to get the pizzas to our table, only to find they'd made them wrong!
On one visit we had a disabled child with us, who they asked could we move her upstairs as she was being nosiy... this was at 4pm in the afternoon, when it was virtually empty. Not very PC!

Save your money, and go to one of the many other restaurants nearby
