“Our best meal in London!!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 August 2010

The place is small but the food is wonderful and the prices are very reasonable. They don't take credit cards, so bring cash.

The grilled lamb is to die for! I've had lamb in the states at some fairly expensive restaurants, but this was the best I've ever had. The grilled chicken was wonderful also.

We were so stuffed that we were planning to decline dessert, but they brought us desserts for the table on the house before we said anything! (Of course, we ate them :) )

I highly reccomend this restaurant.

“My favourite restaurant in the whole wide world”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 February 2010

I discovered this place as I used to live behind it. It doesn't look like much from the outside and the ambience leaves a lot to be desired (odd music, when they decide to turn it on, and regularly, criminally, empty.
But, none of this matters when you taste the food. This place is a meat-lovers dream (although I'm sure their vegetarian dishes are just as tasty). They cook all the meats on an open charcoal grill, and kebabs come with a host of extras (turkish bread, rice, salads, garlic & chilli sauces)... my mouth is watering just thinking about it.
Plus, the staff are friendly and courteous, the value for money is astounding ( the mixed grill is easily enough for two and estremely cheap for the amount of food you get), and I always get some freebie thrown in (salad, baklava, tea).

I have recommended this restaurant to many people, most of whom have made it a ragular eating destination.

“well worth a visit”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 June 2009

Having read the good reviews on trip advisor, four of decided to try the Ekin Restaurant last Friday as we were staying at the Marriott Maida Vale but wanted to eat out.
The restaurant was easy enough to find (10 minutes walk) but we were dubious when we arrived as on first sight it looks a bit like a run of the mill kebab shop from the front. Please do not let this put you off as it is in fact a pleasant, intimate little restaurant with great food and attentive service.
We ordered the mixed starter for 2 which came with plenty of dips (hummous, tzatziki etc) and we also had the feta pies and calamari which were all excellent. For our main courses we had a mixture of the kebabs (but be warned the full mixed kebab option is huge !) You get these with rice and salads which you can watch being prepared in the open kitchen. We were so full that we passed on dessert only to be brought a complimentary baklava and ice cream anyway. This was followed by a complimentary shot of something but we don't know what it was. With beers the bill was a reasonable £80 for 4.
Would recommend it to anyone that happens to find themselves in the area.

“AWESOME RESTAURANT, A MUST TRY!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 June 2009

This restaurant is not only super friendly but has the most amazing humus, do not miss the full mixed kebab, it is delicious and huge, comes with salad and rice, so really two people can share this dish. This is one of my favourite restaurants and can't stop myself recommending it to everyone, give it a try! Sometimes they even give you some baclavas for free or some tea, really lovely place.

“Best turkish kebab in town, bang for the buck!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 February 2009

We have been to Ekin plenty of times and are thrilled by the quality of food and service every time. The portions are huge and the taste simply outstanding. Definitely try the kebabs which come with a lot of salads, wonderful bread and rice. If you are looking for a relaxed dining experience that won't cut a hole through your pocket this is the place. Main course less than a tenner. Without alcohol, two can dine for under 25 GBP, including appetizer and desserts.
