“Best location”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 January 2014

One of the best value-for-money accommodations available in London, particularly in terms of location, security, staff friendliness, competence and attention to detail. The bar/cafe offers excellent service and a wide range of meal types. The bonus is obviously its location - Euston U/G across road puts you minutes from London's major drawcards. The rooms are not huge but comfortable. Besides, in a city like London, let's face it, you're only there to sleep and we were able to that quite soundly. Definitely recommended.

Stayed in this hotel during NYE 2014. The hotel is modern and in a great location (Euston tube and train station is just across the road). All staff we're friendly and helpful. Our bedroom was clean with good modern, working facilities but rather small. Would recommend and stay again.

Location-wise this a great choice. Even coming in on the coach to Victoria, it's easy enough to get the tube to Euston (though we were tired and lazy and got a black cab instead which was just under £15 just so you know). We wanted a hotel that was inexpensive, good for transport and not too far from the theatres so this fit the bill perfectly. It is a fairly direct 25 minute walk to Shaftesbury Avenue if you want to stretch your legs and there are plenty of places to eat along the way. It is about 15 minutes walk to the British Museum too and that is definitely worth a visit.
The staff on reception were friendly when we checked in. There are tube and street maps available if you need them and other tourist information. The room was clean and pleasant and the bed was ridiculously comfy. We didn't use the restaurant/bar which also offers breakfast but the option was there if required. It was a bit noisy with the road right outside but if you're tired enough and the bed is comfy it's not really a problem!
Be aware that they don't have anywhere to leave your bags at the hotel if you arrive early or your onward transport isn't until late. You can leave them next door at Euston Station but there is a charge of £9 per item per 24hrs to leave your bags there.

We are pleased to learn you were happy with the location and found our staff to be friendly eddi72. This hotel is in the hustle and bustle of the city so regrettably some external noise may be heard; in an attempt to reduce the noise outside of the hotel we do provide double glazing. We do not provide a storage facility in our hotels however we do have an early check in service should you wish to enter your room from 12pm, this does come at a £10.00 charge and is subject to availability. Thank you for your feedback.

A very enjoyable place to stay; the staff were the best we had met anywhere. Everyone was welcoming, friendly and courteous. Reception was great throughout, the cleaner was delightful and breakfast was good with friendly and efficient staff.
We had a very quiet room. All was recently refurbished and the bed was excellent.
A really well managed hotel with staff who obviously responded to this.

Room Tip: We were allocated a room on the back, very quiet.

Booked so we could have a quick, cheap place to stay before our Paris trip. Adequate for that purpose for sure. The room was a little smelly, but it was clean for the most part. Staff was friendly. Best part about this place was the price and location.

It's Traveoldge so you know you won't get a room and service in the same way you so at The Dorchester. But then you don't pay for it wither. £58 for 2 nights a week before Xmas is a bargain. Conveniently located immediately outside Euston, it's off the train , dump the bags and celebrate all London has to offer.

I didn't get the mname of the receptionist but she's a credit to the Business (think she was French) happy in her job and happy to help.

Room is one of the better ones for Travelodge (NEVER go to Southend....) clean enough and has all the basics.

Surprisdingly enough the room we had bery amazingly quiet, but it was at the back of the hotel and didn't face onto the road - ask fo r one of these for peace and quiet.

There's not a lot else to say really, you know what you're getting.

Oh, they will let you leave your luggage in the staff room in exchange for a donation to McMillan Cancer. Beats the £9 a bag at Euston and much more worthwhile!

Room Tip: Ask for one at the back, away from the road

I spend a few nights at this hotel whilst stopping over in London, during my journey back from Cornwall. I chose this hotel partly because, being a Travelodge I had a fair idea as to what was on offer, and partly for it's close proximity to Euston Station.

When I arrived, I was greeted by a very friendly and helpful young lady at reception, who asked me if I had any particular room preference. I replied that all I wanted was a quiet room, and she promptly allocated me a room at the rear of the hotel. My room was typical Travelodge, clean, comfortable, no frills, but perfectly adequate for my needs.

The breakfast was also a typical Travelodge, a buffet with a good selection of hot and cold dishes. The only drawback was the room was small and rather cramped, and moving around was a bit of an obstacle course. This did not present too much of a problem for me as the dining room was not crowded, but I would think there would be difficulties during busy times.

Overall I liked this hotel, I enjoyed my stay, I would certainly stay there again, and would recommend this establishment.

Room Tip: Rooms at the back are quieter, I suspect front rooms could be noisy as it is on the corner of a bus...
